2/5 Encore Boston.

H ($700) has been at table for 30 minutes. Hasn’t played a hand. V (covers) 3 bet a $20 open to $50 with AK. Mostly had been doing a lot of limping and passive play.

V limps, 3 more limps, I $35 KQo CO and V calls.

Pot: $85.

877r.

X, $40, call. Kinda looked like he considered raise but not sure.

Turn.

Kr.

He leads $85 I call.

River 9.

Pot:$325.

He asks how much I started with and then bets $250.

Pretty exploitative to fold but doesn’t feel like this is a bluff very often.

I think checking flop is much better here. He has way more 7x than you.

Turn is good just call - river is better for him. Fold river.

You in Boston now?

Yea.

Flop bet is kinda marginal. Against loose passives playing wide though I like cbetting a lot in general.

I'd fold river, his hands that connect otf hit otr, and doubt he is turning his showdown value like T9 into a bluff esp with this sizing

I don't mind the cbet at all for exploitative reasons.

Surprisingly PIO bets almost full range on this board, over 80%. The ranges I gave were somewhat sloppy since I was tired but given that the guy isn't playing optimally cbetting (ie not defending properly with appropriate check-raises and check-calls) a ton here is going to do good.

PIO prefers 1/3 sizing, which is my go-to on a good amt of flops, unless I'm playing a fish then I just hammer the value sizing with my good hands.

turn fine

river is bleh, with two straights coming in i just muck it. if he bluffed great for him

I’m really surprised PÍO bets 80pct on this flop. Thanks for that info Minatorr.

AP: the Villain’s turn lead is big trouble for H as we have all the big Kings here and he’s value betting us. For all V knows, we have KK. I suppose the iron law of turn aggression applies here, but there’s only 2 A7s, 2 76s, 3 88, 2 87s and the case 77 we’re behind that are realistic given the preflop action versus all kinds of semi bluff, spaz etc.

Can anyone get behind raise/folding this turn? Or are we owning ourselves too much if we do? This may just be another one of my stupid ideas...

AP: we call this turn, cap ourselves and have a bluff catcher for the river. We get slightly over 2-1 on the river call. Perhaps he has 4 T9s and 3 A8s that can get here and bet versus the 14 realistic combos (the 10 above plus the 65s that get there otr)that beat us. It’s thin and I’m having trouble finding a call.

After paired board troubles part 1 I remind myself that people seem to always have it here and I just make the tight fold against someone who has been and seems pretty passive

V shows Q9o...

He picked a good spot to bet then against your specific hand. It was a good fold, even if the result would have been in your favor.
