2/5 at Encore Boston.

V (covers) is a 20s or 30s rec. Raised a woman’s cbet on A97 two tone. Turn is a K. She snap checks out of turn. He bets, she snap ships and he folds what he says was A9. I also saw him iso K6s CO over two limps.

H ($700) has been at table for 30 min and pretty card. Might have played one hand.

V limps UTG H$25 MP QdQh V calls.

8c8s2c.

Pot: $50
X $35, $105, call.

Turn Ax.

Xx

River 4x.

Pot: $260

V puts out $200 kinda assertively/aggressively but not over the top.

If he has A8 98 and then just the suited combos of 87 then we need him to have 6 bluffs to call down here. I think he has a few other combos of 8x but I assume a lot of them bet turn. I think his sizing and the fact that he limp called pre makes this unlikely to be just an ace when he bets river. I don’t think like A9ss bets this size and I would imagine his AQss etc is gonna just raise pre.

Seems like a good turn for him to bet his 8x since a lot of people would float AK/AQ etc here even though I wouldn’t. Here’s also a lot of Axss I could have. Not sure if he’s thinking at that level though. I suppose I have some 99-KK that don’t love the ace though so maybe he might check for that reason.

How often are you betting the flop with an Ace?

It is pretty exploitable to fold here if you are checking the flop with a lot of your better Ax hands.

Call river.

Yeah i would call but im not lovin’ it. That sizing also somewhat polarizes him more. The bet itself isnt polarizing but in general people would not bet that large with TPNK there

I'd probably fold vs this sizing, I think a weaker overpair is betting less otr. He has all 8x l/c pre and also Axcc

I think it’s close and typically lean toward fold here but an earlier hand be played made him look capable plus I had my super sweet live read and toss in the call.

I lose to 87o. Oops.

I'm folding here. It should be very clear to the villian you have an premium pair and it seems he could care less.

And he bet enough that it looks more of a polarizing hand than a medium mediocre hand.

I would save my $200 for a different day.
