£250 effective in£1/2

Mid positon opened to £10 and I called Js9s on the button
Sb called
Pot:£32

Flop: AsTs4d
Sb decided to donk £15
Pre flop aggressor folded

Thought?

As played, I called the £15
Pot:£62

Turn: Jh
So we have a pair and flush draw

SB bet £40
Thought?

SB is mostly a straight forward player - but sometimes overvalues hands like top pair weak kicker and hands like 2 pair and sets on 4 to a straight/flush boards therefore he has been overcalling

Against a normal player I might entertain jamming turn more - against him I feel he might even call me with A2o for example

Fold pre.

If you want to play 3b, flatting here is pretty weak.

Flop is fine, i wouldnt raise here.

Turn would not raise either, he's a straightforward player.... so just call

I'm also 3b or folding preflop.

Flop lead from sb is very odd, he should expect the opener or you to have an ace a decent amount. I think call is good, and would look to raise a couple of turns like an 8 or Q.

Turn is pretty interesting and honestly wouldn't mind a shove to dare him to call with AK or AQ. At this point we are ahead of flush draws that chose to play the hand this way. It would also be a lot of money back to him to call off since we have a lot of AT, AJ, JT, 44. I think the stacks are pretty good for an all in. I see your read that he overvalues tpwk but even a fish will find a fold with naked top pair here a lot. I am also concerned we have no implied odds when we hit.

What do you think villains range is here?

In my experience this is almost always top pair and generally not top top. SOME villains will donk with the draw but I only put villains on draws once I’ve seen it a couple of times.

So, you’re behind his range and don’t have odds
to call. You could consider a raise as a semi bluff if you have reason to believe he will fold (with you repping a set of jacks or two pair). Again, I don’t expect s lot of folds out of 1/2 villains that bet two streets.

I’d fold.

Also, I think you are just deep enough to call with J9s pre a 5x open. Effective stacks are 25x what you need to call. I think it’s on the line. Especially since you have position.
