OK, I'm gonna skip to the turn now, because that's where I think the hand starts to get fun.
My thoughts have mostly been encapsulated by IRTM and QuadJ--I liked this flop a lot (well, more than most others where I don't make top set) and I decided to bet $40, with an eye toward folding if there was heavy action behind me. I was not expecting this:
V1 (started with $183) is on my left who I mentioned already. He seems like a decent, but not a good, player. In the two heads-up pots we have played, he called my $21 raise out of the BB and then folded to my c-bet; then he called my $15 raise on the button and I checked and folded to his bet. I have also seen him play a hand where he made it $15 with AA (the only time someone other than me has made it more than $10 at this table), it went 3-way to a flop of A62rb, and he overbet the flop and called a jam with top set. He has played a couple other hands that contributed to my overall read but didn't pick up anything specific about him in those hands.
V3 (started with ~500) is one of the deep stacks. He's a 30ish white guy with headphones on. I don't have many specific reads, but he's seemed to play straightforward in the few small pots I've seen him in so far. No big pots yet. He is in MP.
V5 (covers) is the BB, the other deep stack. He just sat down and I have no history with him, so I don't know exactly how he plays, but right before he posted his BB I heard him talking to another reg from a game that just broke, which included him saying, "You didn't want me to have position on you!" So from that I'm deducing that he's a bit of an ego player (not necessarily because he was wrong, but because he said that out loud).
Preflop ($3): Hero is UTG with A
A
Hero raises to 10, 5 players call.
Flop ($55 after rake): K
9
3
V5 checks,
Hero bets 40, V1 quickly says "Call," then slides the chips out, V2 folds,
V3 calls, V4 folds,
V5 calls.
Turn ($215): 2
V5 checks, Hero...
Obviously this is a good turn card, but that's a lot of callers on the flop. My only real options here are check, or bet $100.
I should mention before people start posting responses: I had a read I was pretty confident in, that if I checked, V1 would bet. (His OOrP call, along with the way he called, seem to suggest he is strong. I think he has at least Kx, and not a draw.) Of course this doesn't necessarily imply that I should check.
So, check or bet $100, and why?
Also, if this were no limit, and you were betting, how much would you bet?
