live full ring $2/$5 500 max bi

Hero (BTN): tag/nit image, agro pre but bricking post flop. ~750

Villain (UTG+2): young foreign Asian. loose agrressive, playing around 20/80 over 2 hours. capable of bluffs that don't make sense. stack has been fluctuating between 1.5k and 100 over the session. got called c/r on T53r, called a shove on a 5 turn (making a FD). river was 2x and mucked when showed 63. ~ 650

OTTH:

Pre ($7)
V limps. Hero raises to $25 w/ AJ. V calls.

Flop ($57)
873
V donks $25. Hero????

Not sure how to interpret this bet. Do sets play this way? Or are most donking ranges pretty capped?

As a general rule heads up donking ranges are capped, while multiway ones are a lot stronger and can be anything up to the nuts.

Definitely would not be raising. Let him continue to bet as long as he's willing to do so.

20/80? Do you mean 80/20? (playing 80% of hands, coming in for a raise 20% of the time?)

Sets will donk monotone boards, as the street checking through is a disaster for them, but they will donk bigger, imo. His range is mostly other flopped flushes (fingers crossed), 2-pair (we're probably not getting any more money out of him, but given reads, maybe), and combo-draws (SD with one club). Maybe occasional sets and occasional air that just thinks you'll be afraid of the monotone flop.

I want his stack, which we won't get by three half-pot bets. Especially as another club will almost always kill action if he has none, flopped a small flush, or has some weird combo-draw that includes a small club (like 5c6x). Therefore, I raise flop. If we lose him, we prob weren't getting much more anyway. While it keeps him from bluffing again, I think his pure bluff range is very small, and we more than make up for it by making the geometric increase in the pot grow bigly. I make it $75-90.

I freaked out because I was really scared of him being mega capped and didn't want to lose him. I wasn't sure which line would be the most optimal and I didn't want to tank too long because it looks so strong so I just called.

Flop ($57)
873
Villain donks $25. Hero calls.

Turn ($107)
4
Villain looks up briefly, bets $65, then gives all of his attention to playing Hearthstone on his phone, disinterested from the hand. Hero??

Huge action killer but not if he has K? Seriously was not sure how to interpret the double barrel plus the live tells. I thought raising just made it way to obvious that I floated flop w/ A and now just hit and he could comfortably fold K given my image. Is calling the only thing we can do now?

Meh. Head out window is usually a huge strength tell, and we still want his stack. This is why we had to raise flop, but now raise turn and hope he makes a call like the one in your example hand.

Raise the flop versus the drooler.

As played, $165.

think flop is a must raise. turn not so much. depends on villain but dont mind calling now.

Not only is it a huge strength tell, if V is doing it, subconsciously (or even consciously) V wants you to put more chips in the pot. V likely overvalues K and medium strong hands in general, which is why it's important to look for these things outside of a hand. Sometimes they give-away their strategic weaknesses as well. It is not impossible that V has the straight-flush but far more likely overvaluing the K.
