V is a 60 year old lady, has clearly played the game before but plays exactly like youd expect. Saw her be 3rd limper in with AQo, saw her minraise with probably AA. She called a 40 flop bet with a gutshot on a paired board. Standard calling station who bets when she has it.

1/2. V has 170 and I got her covered.
2 limpers, V limps in HJ, BTN hero calls w A5o, BB completes.

Ah 5h Qx
checked around, H bets 10 and only V calls
Jo
V checks, hero bets 155

$155 into a $30 pot is complete spew. It would have made more sense if you overbet the pot on the flop to $30 and then over-shoved the turn for $135 which is still somewhat spewy.

I think she would call turn with QJ, KQh, QTh, Q9h, JTh, KJh, J9h, possibly any KXh, possibly any AX here that we beat. A person like this says "I see good hand, I put money in", they dont understand pot sized bets.

I know what you mean, but you're being arrogant and optimistic (I've been there). She may not understand a pot-sized bet, but everybody understands when it's a decision for their last chip and it could be the end of the night for them. The only hand that you beat that is calling this bet is an Ax (which still has 6 outs to a chop and 3 outs to beat you) and even that is optimistic.

Just bet normal. You're lucky if you bet 20 and she tank calls AK. A5 for 150 is isolating hands better than yours, like always. If you had KT, you could bet more than usual, but not 150+.

Well that escalated quickly.

What happens if she wanted to see the flop with 55, AQ, AJ, any 2 hearts?

Play normal poker, get normal calls, make money. Spew with a massive overbet and get stacked by a player you have no respect for because “she doesn’t know how to play” as you reload and steam because you “should have won”...

Fold pre. This is a weak hand to take multi-way

Turn is absolutely terrible unless she accidentally showed you QJ.

Even a typical calling station can fold when you suddenly spaz out and bet x5 the pot OTT.

Lol where you play at OP.

Weak off suit aces (check)
Betting 5x pot with a marginal two pair that when called is drawing nearly dead. (check)

Total spaz

Turn is a bet half pot or check, the j is terrible for you.

Nice way to isolate to mostly hands that beat you. *Maybe* you can get a call from QJ.

Wait...so you have observed her to just limp AQ in a multi-way pot and then when you get precisely that sort of flop (after you had made the inexplicable decision to just limp in from the button), you apparently discounted the possibility that she held AQ here?

The hand was butchered. Sorry you lost, but that was complete spew on top of the other errors...
