Overpair vs Weird Player who Donk Bets Whole Way

1/3 St Louis

HH: V is 30s white guy who is quite loose and visibly a rec. H is young 20s white guy and perceived as TAG and has not made it to showdown yet as it is early in the session.

V sits down at table w/ $125 and his first hand he limps in early position, two other limpers, BTN makes it $20, H looks down at AhAd in SB and makes it $75, V then flats and rest fold. Flop brings QQx, H bets all in, V calls w/ AQo. lolz

Another hand occurred where V limp called a BTN $20 raise.
Flop: 686r ck, ck
Turn: 686A ck, BTN bet $35, V calls
River: 686A2 V bets $50, BTN calls, V shows K6o

There was one more hand I did not catch very well where he overbet the river in a $100 pot and got called and said "good call" and mucked his hand.

Then he proceeds to not really play a hand for almost an hour, I am thinking maybe he is locking up the win but then wouldn't he just get up? Or only play tight? Maybe just changing gears or horrible cards?
OTTH

Pre: V($475ish) limps in UTG, EP limps, HJ limps, CO limps, H($350) on BTN w/ KK makes it $20 (too big?) V calls, rest fold
Flop(~$50): Q72 V bets $50 relatively quickly, H calls
Turn(~$150): Q72J V bets $100, H calls
River(~$350): Q72J7 V puts H all in ($180), H calls, V shows ?????

Maybe I played this a bit too slow. Maybe I should have simply committed on turn? Turn card is interesting one as we now lose to flushes and a very possible QJ. Obv calling on any river, can maybe fold on a Q river but not sure. 7 is a pretty great card for us here as it eliminates some possible trips combos and we now beat QJ. Is it just standard to call down here vs a player like this or should we be raising turn?

Pre is fine.

Grunch

Otf i’d just raise and gii vs fish. They shouldnt really have much value hands that beat us with this line

Ott is pretty clear call, he can be value betting worse Qx and otf he should be x/r or x/c, trapping his sets at a good frequency not 100% psb’ing it.

River is kind of nasty. I guess I call but i hate it, esp where the hand he overbet a hand otr and was caught bluffing. Dont hate a fold

More pre. At least do 4*$3+($3 per limper), which would be $24.

I've been in this spot many many many times online. The correct line is to call down, as you did. When somebody starts by pot donking the flop HU (especially THIS flop) and you have a strong hand, just them keep going. They often have a really dumb hand. I would call river with as bad as KcQc in this spot.

I like the way you played it postflop. We aren't really scared of any runouts since the flop is disjointed and we have the Kd on the turn, so let him bet it for us, whatever he might have. Keep his range as wide as possible.

Re: Overpair vs Weird Player who Donk Bets Whole Way

After 4 limpers at my typical table this raise would be far too small, although we actually managed to get this HU with the loose guy although kinda an in-between SPR. I'm guessing the result isn't expected. I would have actually gone to $35 to simply target the loose guy and create a comfortable stack off situation postflop.

SPR is 6.5 and we only got in 6% of our stack preflop, so not really a spot we should be comfortable committing against most players, and yet thanks to the smallish SPR he can easily make us play for stacks doing exactly what he did. I try to avoid these spots.

Anways, if we do feel committed on the flop (which we may against this guy), I would lean to raising to commit. If we don't then I'm fine with just flatting.

As played, I would probably lean to dumping it on the turn. He could have had us beat on the flop, the main draw got there, as did QJ. We're not getting good odds to chase our 2nd nut flush draw.

River is a little interesting thanks to some hands getting counterfeited. But in the end even though this guy has shown a river stab bluff, other than that everything has been for value with the junk hands he's hit, and he's just barrelled his 3rd street.

ETA: Knowing the spoiler, I guess it comes back to how noobish / WTF / maniac this guy is. I'd probably lean to raising the flop against him to commit, or otherwise hang on for dear life like it looks like you've done.

It’s true that this guy’s hand histories don’t translate directly to this spot, but they do show he can play unorthodox/get a little out of line, which might be enough for us to favour calling him down.

Against a known solid/nitty player maybe we could call flop and fold turn when diamonds and QJ get there when this deep, but even that feels a little nitty and exploitable.

I was concerned with this. A7 I thought he could have, but last time he had some weird trips he did not take this line, this was a completely new line. I also felt he would maybe think AQ or QJ would be good in this spot or something.
