1/2 NL, 10 player

mp (Hero J J): $300
co: $200

preflop:
Hero raises to $10, co calls, blinds fold

Flop ($23): 3 5 7
Hero bets $17, co raises to $34, Hero?

I have a TAG image. Villain is also TAGgish.
$15-17 is my standard c-bet when heads up and 3 handed.

Villain plays any 2 suited cards in position so he might be trying to draw for cheap by getting a free turn card.
I don't put him on 46 because he should be raising more to protect against the flush draw (unless he has 46).

he also might have a smaller overpair (88/99/TT) and betting for information to see where he is at??

I'm normally a PLO player and not used to min raises on vulnerable scary flops.
assuming he doesnt have 46, Whats my best line?

Re raise a size big enough so that you can fire on turn blanks that don't complete the draw. The sizing should be big enough that you are giving his best draw bad odds to call.

The range you described isn't a tag.

Break his range into parts and how you do against those parts.

There's a decent amount of things that crush you.
Slow played overpairs.
Flopped sets.
Flopped straight.

There's a ton of things that are only a little hit behind or flipping.
Naked FD. Combondraws. FD with overs.

There's only a few things that you crush.
TPTk.
99-TT

Overall it's a way behind/ flipping spot and folding is usually the best option.

Alternatively you can call
Since it's such a small bet and try to get a cheap showdown. If he bets turn you gotta fold though.

so vs an unknown, play it safe and 'see monsters under the bed' until he shows otherwise?

Your hand really isn't that strong. Call and play poker on the turn. That's the interesting street in this hand.

Call and take a card off, see what develops

This isn't seeing monsters under the bed, it's recognizing that an unknown player, showing aggression, is likely not bluffing. Knowing that he has something, what could that range be? You really are not that far ahead of missy of it.

Generally speaking I'm not all that excited getting. All in with a meh overpairs on a draw heavy board full stacked against a noncrazy unknown. That's why I said you can call once since the raise sizing was terrible and see if he checks it back but you wouldn't be losing much if you just folded either. You're often flipping, sometimes crushed, and rarely dominating in this spot. You're usually making a small mistake folding, but often making a large mistake calling.

Why doesn't anyone to ask what city it is? You guys just act like OP is playing in your game.

In LA, shove. In Vegas, snap-fold.
