Hi guys,

The game is 7 handed $1 / $2 NLHE at a casino in Botswana. Most of the players are unknown to me including the villain in this case and most pots are limped in by almost everyone at the table (which is a bit frustrating for an online player and another subject I want to get into on these threads!)

I have JJ on the button and the pot is limped in by 4 of the other 6 players.

I raise to $12 and get one caller UTG+1.

Flop comes 996, no suits. Villain checks and I bet $15, he raises to $30.

Turn is a 2x and we both check.

The pot was around $90 now.

R is another 6 and he bets $30.

What do you think is the correct play here?

Thanks for your help,

ManicaPost.

I don't think any of us know how they play in Botswana. I'd call, he can have anything, it's Botswana.

You ever been to Deadvlei in Namibia? I was reading about that area, seems pretty cool.

Stack sizes?

Raise more pre, around $30. Although your raise 'did the job' of weeding out limpers, I'm shocked you only got one caller with such a small raise. A bigger raise might have taken it down here (a good result), and it also would have helped you to better define any caller's range by cutting out a lot of speculative SC-type hands.

What do you range V on here? If V is thinking, this flop obviously missed a lot of your range so I think his c/r is a good play by V with air. I'd think he has AQ+ or lots of lower PPs here.

Would anyone rr/f here?

As played I think the check-behind is OK.

Getting 4:1, I call. Never raising here because we can't call if he re-pops it. The bet sizing doesn't say 'monster' to me, it looks more like a steal and I think V turns over AK often enough that you scoop the pot. If he has a 9 or a 6 (22 highly unlikely holding for V), oh well, make a mental note and move on - you've paid a relatively small amount for good info on V's bet sizing to be used in later hands.

Call river.

$12-$15 looks good pre-flop.
