Note: I normally play online 2/4 to 10/20, but was playing live at Wynn to get some practice playing live and play some hands with a buddy who is also a pro that normally plays higher, but I never played with him before.

Playing at the Wynn 1/2 NL.

I open EP with 66 for 15, unknown player in LP 3bets me to 45, SB calls I decide to call 30 more. I've been playing for about an hour and have been playing pretty solid. LP seems decent, I think he's a regular. SB is a pro. I've seen him get all in pre with KK. Another hand I played against SB where I raised EP with AK and he flatted on the button, and the flop was 10 J Q rainbow, I bet flop and he called. I bet turn 9 that puts out a flush draw, and he shoves and we chop the pot with AK. The villain in this hand also seems to be kind of tight on money and playing pretty cautiously from what I could tell at the time, although wouldn't say he was playing nitty. More of a disciplined TAG style.

Stack sizes:

Me (300)

LP (650sh)

SB (300sh)

Flop 6 8 10 rainbow

Sweet! That's my money card.

However, someone comes over and it's the food server, bringing me my bill. I ask her to come back later, but it seems be throwing me off my game a lot that I had a conversation about the bill right when I'm in a great spot in a 3 bet pot with trips! I've offended the food server. She seems to not be aware that she should wait until the hand is over to talk to me.

I check, and I realize SB has checked (lost track of action). LP checks.

Turn is a 7, and it's a rainbow board. I hate the card, cause it's an action killer. SB fairly quickly goes all-in. It's a pretty big over bet 200 into the pot.

I guess the pot had about 105 in it....

Thoughts on

A. flop (who likes a lead)?

B. turn

You play 2/4 to 10/20 online for a living? If so how come you're asking us for advice?

A. I like a check/raise. If villain has AK and checks then we get more value out of him by letting him hit an A or K, and if he has an overpair then he'll be betting the flop. There's also a good chance AK fires a c-bet.

B. Because of the previous hand history it's hard to believe villain plays a straight this hard. Not only that but 99 is the only hand that makes sense with the 3-bet cold call that could have a straight. A bigger set is a possibility but most players would be scared of a 4 straight board and an overbet shoves folds out almost everything a set beats and only gets called by a straight. It also looks like a really good spot for villain to bluff becuase we're folding a ton of our range here and the 3-better is folding almost all of his. And to top it all off we have outs to boat up if we're wrong and we are up against a straight.

So, I would call.

Fold to the three bet pre...not deep enough to set mine OOP.

I would usually lead the flop, yeah.

As played, better reads would be nice, but I lean toward a call. The overbet from a thinking player seems like a bluff. You both seem to have air, an obvious scare card comes, and he overbets? Why would he do this for value?
I guess he could also be trying to make his hand look like a bluff to induce a hero call, but that's all very read based.

K yeah it's 1/3. So I think this is the right place for the hand.

and there's 3 of us seeing the flop....

I think it was 45* 3 = 138 in pot pre....So over bet is less than 2x pot.
