£1/2. Table is pretty shortstacked and thus pots generally don't get over £100. Hero(£650 covers everyone) has been taking down small pots for the last 2 hours constantly having the goods.

Villain (£250) been losing small pots all night. Haven't really seen much of his play on turn/river since usually doesn't get there.

7 handed

Hero opens UTG to £6 with 3 5. MP/BTN(villain)/SB calls.

Flop
6 8 J

Hero bets £21 on BTN calls.

Turn
Q

Hero bets £46, BTN calls

I put his range on A or strong 1 pair/2 pair hands. Not sure I can ever put him on a set here.

River
10

Hero????

The way I see it we have 3 options

1) C-bet around £80 into £158, hope to get called by 2 pair/strong 1 pairs putting me on a busted NFD.

2) Bet closer to pot like £120-£150 incase villain puts me on a busted NFD or he got there with a straight on the river which I assume he's not folding.

3) Check to him on river with intention on C/R if he made that straight on the river to get stacks in. I mean, if he did get there and I check to him, I cannot ever see him checking back due to the times where I actually have strong 1 pair/2 pair hands that he'll want to get value on. I also don't see him folding if he was to C-bet like £80 with what he has behind and so will pay me off incase I have a busted NFD or something similar.

53s is a super duper fold UTG, even more true given the table is short stacked.

$6 seems is probably too small an open for live poker. Now you're 4-way to the flop. I'm pretty surprised BB don't come along as well getting 6.5:1.

You really should not check/raise the river. That's the worst option.

I'm inclined to value bet.

Based on what you've described and how I understand poker in the UK to be, you have to assume that you have the best hand here. If there's an overflush, so be it. I prefer something between options 1 and 2, maybe around 100. Given how short you are, you would have to call any raise.

The reason I opened with 53s is because everyone was being pretty passive on the table and it was likely that it would only go 2-3 ways where I can take it down post flop, if I hit I can also go for stacks like in this situation.

I wasn't ever planning to fold on river to any sized bet/raise. I am just looking at the best options to get value from villain. I agree that line 3 is probably the worst one unless the guy was super aggro which, in this situation, he is not. I think that the best line would be betting around £100 here but I just wanted clarification on whether in this spot we can ever profitably go for nearer to pot for value in your opinions.
