Alright so I'm not actually hero ITT. My friend asked what I thought of the hand and we had very different opinions on how to play this properly.

Hero: Loose, aggressive early 20s kid. Plays too loose pre but overall solid postflop
Villain 1: Aggressive thinking player
Villain 2: Standard live drooler

Hero opens CO to $10 with 89 (yes I know this is also a mistake but this isn't the point of the thread)
Villain 1 calls on the BTN
Villain 2 calls from the blinds

Flop 67K and V2 donks $12, Hero calls, Villain 1 raises to $50, V2 folds. Hero?

What is the best line once we get in this situation? We're getting 2:1 odds to chase our draw, but villain is almost sure to bet turn so if we miss turn is going to be awful to play.

Anyway, I advocated just folding to the raise. My friend thought making a backraise to $125 or so would be the best play. According to him, villain is aggressive and he thinks he would bluff this with the vast majority of his range, almost A2C.

What do you guys think? We might both be ******ed and calling is the best play.

Stack size is an important part of this, but I would like to address something else first :

Table/seat change pre. There's no reason to suffer a thinking aggro on your immediate left, making your life hell. This is live 1/2 or 1/3 (also not specified).

Flop: It all comes down to perception / history of V1 and stack size. Aggro thinking player can mean hundreds of different things. What aggro plays has he made exactly? If we think his range is wide, lots of air or other hands that will fold, I can maybe get behind back raising. If his perceived range is well balanced, where we lack the necessary fold equity and won't get paid off if we hit, we fold. If V1's range is either nutted or air (polarized), then we may be able to find a call.

As a default, I just fold. Playing OOP for the rest of the hand against him just seems like a losing proposition. Would love to know stack sizes though

You're not getting 2:1 odds to make a straight on the next card though. Your chances of hitting a straight are 2:1 if you make it to the river.

Stack sizes are really important here.

I actually don't mind a flat. Ton of implied odds if you hit turn (depending on stacks of course). I think 3betting this flop is just spew.

I would have preferred to raise V2 when we had the chance, pop it to $40-$45.

It has been 24 hours and the OP hasn't come back to provide an important piece of information before anyone can even begin to answer this question correctly. I'm locking it for now. OP, if you want this re-opened, PM me the stack sizes.

Locked.
