Table opened about two hours ago. Hero's image has been TAG. 3bet twice in the BB both times going to showdown with aces.

All villains but one are passive fit or fold. The other villain is TAG, would also say he is probably better player than Hero but we have stayed out of each other's way.

Hero starts hand with $600 and covers the table. Blinds are $1/$2. Blinds post Utg calls. Hero Utg+2 raises to $15 with 10c10s.

4calls. Pot is $72

(72)flop is 8s7d4s

Utg checks. Hero?

villains have stacks between 50-$400.

This is the sort of situation where you c-bet $40/$45 and should be happy when everybody folds. This part is bog standard except you really don't want any action, you have a made hand but it isn't that strong and there are lots of turn cards that are potentially bad.

If you do get a call or raise we will need to know what positions everybody is in. How much possible action they face after make a big difference to any further action on your part.

I think you got a nice flop! What is your goal at this point? I think a 1/2 pot bet potentially takes the pot down. Checking is another option because the board isn't too scary and may induce someone to take a stab with top pair but only if you don't mind folding to an over card

QuadJ nailed it. Nobody has said they have anything yet. No reason to believe you're behind. Bet and see what happens.

Thanks for the input. I ended up checking and a short stack $60 went all in. It folded around to utg and he tank folded. Hero called and villain had a set of 7's. Hero hit runner runner spades to win.

I tend to get in these spots pretty often and at my 1/2 game there are always multiple callers. Heads up I'm betting this flop for value every time but multiway I don't want to build a huge pot OOP or give free cards.

You where never folding to the short stack on this board anyways. Unless he is a known nit who has two pair+ when he shoves, there are just too many draw possibilities here to fold an over pair to a less then pot sized bet.

You will get into these spots a lot at 1/2, where so many villains are loose/passive. You can't let it keep you from c-betting over pairs. You will value own yourself occasionally but you will get more value from worse in the long run. The trick is getting a sense for their calling ranges on the flop so you know when to bet turn and when to give up.

Raise more pf if $15 is going to keep getting that many callers.

Definitely bet the flop. I think that if you won't even bet pocket tens here then you're pretty much just set mining.
