1/3 game nine handed 100bb stacks except for SB.
UTG+1 limps in, LP raises to 20, SB goes all-in for 37, I call from the BB, UTG+1 and LP both call. UTG+1 is stationy and frequently takes stabs at pots. LP plays straightforward and is on the aggressive side

Flop A63

Everyone checks pretty quickly.

Turn 8

- do you play preflop differently
- do you always check turn here

If LP is aggressive (which I'm assuming also applies to his preflop raise) then I'm more for re-raising preflop and isolating all the dead money. I think getting this HU with the shortstack all-in with relatively big dead money >>> seeing a flop OOP for 12% of our stack with a hand that will often flop terrible plus opening the door for LP to reraise (unless our plan was for that to happen although our flat looks fairly strong so I'm not so sure how often we get played back at).

I also check flop (planning on folding).

When everyone checks flop I'm likely taking a small stab on the turn, probably like $50. Doubt anyone is going to play back at us too much in a protected pot, and if anyone calls I can probably safely check/fold the river.

I 4! pre here to try and get HU with SB and lose the other 2.

And no, I probably lead the turn small and shut down if called.

Hi man , I also play in Vancouver , villa to be exact, you should be raising pre to isolate the sb, there will not be too many good flops for you and your hand will be difficult to play oop, I would size preflop for $60-75ish, if he 4bets you , then at least you know where you stand, flatting with jacks oop is just bad imo ,

Do small all ins tend to get loose action in your room? I'm not sure the flop is a check.

I'm checking here in a 4way 3bet protected pot; just too good a chance someone has an Ace and less chance someone bluffs in a protected pot so we can safely check/fold.

LP was described as aggro, and UTG+1 was described as a station. Neither are likely to have a strong hand. The SB went all in for less than 13BB and could have almost anything that looked decent enough to try to get heads up with LP.

In these circumstances I'd give less than normal weight to the fact the pot is multiway, and I'd pay almost no mind to the fact the pot is "protected". Betting the flop serves the same purpose as 4 betting preflop; we are trying to get heads up against a player who is all in with what rates to be a weak hand.

huh? no it doesn't.

betting a 3way dry side pot on an ace high flop with JJ is not the same as 4betting preflop to iso a shortstack all-in.

4bet preflop. AP check/fold.

Grunch: check down. Toss a small bet OTR if it no one else does. Calling small river bets as well.

I try to iso pre. AP well it's a 4 way pot and someone probably has an Ace so I've lost all interest at this stage. I guess I might call one small bet depending on sizing and action but not two.

Re-raise to iso pre. $85 is good.

As played, check. Probably a check/fold depending on who bets and how much.
