I had a question about preflop play. I play 50 nl with a decent win rate and I'm looking to play some 1/2 and 1/3 occasionally. It's not that I haven't played live before... There's just a couple things that I haven't developed a feel for.
For one I use a pretty aggressive 3betting strategy preflop IP and from the sb facing LP opens. I prefer to flat my suited connectors and small pairs against EP opens. You can make a case for 3betting these to balance your range but I just feel like these hands are so much more playable with a deeper spr that they lose most of their value when you 3bet with 1oobb effective stacks . They're exactly the hands that will improve against an EP opening range. Anyway I usually flat my suited broadways or squeeze over a cold caller depending on the original raisers stats. And I 3bet offsuit Broadways IP because villains don't 4bet bluff or fold enough and wind up folding to a cbet in inflated pots at a higher frequency. Talk about printing money. I hope I'm not rambling.
That's where the issue transitioning comes up. Opening sizes in live cash are so much bigger. If you 3bet to 45 over their 12$ open you wind up going to the flop with an spr of about 1.5 (assuming 1oobb eff. At 1/2). Should I be calling more of my range IP and relying on post flop edge or just folding more, 3! Bluffing way less , and mainly getting involved in pots where I'm the preflop aggressor? Also I noticed villains fold to cbets way less often in live games. I usually cbet less (im at about 60% online ) and delayed cbet a huge part of my range if checked to twice.
I'd appreciate any advice or feedback. Thanks in advance

Yes to this. You can still 3 bet lite but try to do it when you pick up a sizing tell on the original raiser. Online players seem to just click the "raise button" which makes all raises the same amount but live is different. So many people raise 4-5 BBs with premiums and 3 BBs with QTs and things like that.

Yes to the second bolded part also

Thanks for the feedback. The live games I've played in people seem to raise even bigger than that. 5x is on the small side. I'll keep that in mind tho. In general do you see players folding to 3bets? I know to give a 4bet credit for QQ+ and sometimes AK

Mike nailed this one.

One thing that is important to note in transitioning to live especially from 6 max is standard sb/bb stack offs v LP opens in 6 max are NOT standard live.

There's another similar thread running right now
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...range-1706183/

If you read my response there you'll see that my records show people folding to my lite 3 bets over 65% of the time. I dont keep track of what happens when I 3 bet strong hands but my guess is they fold even more since I have better cards (big pairs and big aces) meaning they are less likely to have those.

Read all of the links in the tread at the top of the LLSNL page Sticky Thread "Sticky: ***Best of LLSNL*** " Live is very different than 6 max online. At these low levels you don't need to worry about range balancing etc. You need to focus on value and learn how to spot the fish, value bet them to death and play TAG.
