Will report back at the end of the year with win/loss charts. $5500/mo over 12 months is not impossible. 2013 chart so far, with all of these being at Red Rock except 1/5 when I lost $630 at Venetian, mostly due to losing a $1300 pot with 66 to AA on a A62 flop:

Ya...to actually play 1500 hours of poker in itself is an accomplishment.

To maintain a WR over that span without moving up is much harder than most can imagine.

Just look around this forum, how many regulars stuck around for a year?

When someone says you can make $20/hr at $1/$2 they don't really mean YOU or anyone who gives it the old college try. They mean top players. Whether you become a top player is up to you. YOU are probably a losing player.

I don't think 1500 is that hard. I agree though pretty much everyone wants to move up. The most likely candidate to do this is a 2/5 grinder that plays a lot but 2/5 is the biggest game in the room. Sabr is prob the best example, but I think he only played like 1200 hours last year.

It's not hard until you actually try. 1500 hours is a lot.

Haha a couple years ago the game I played in was just way too good to pass up. There were several people coming in and dumping 4-5 buyins a night. I played like 6 nights a week from 8am until at least 3am.

my man - I have done it and i continue to do it. I have not seen many log as many hours as i do. This is not even close to a brag. The point is soooo many "pros" talk a big game but very very few actually log teh hours. This is y it is sooo silly when people say 50$/hr at 2/5=100k/year. I work my ass off and can not log 2k hours. I must decompress from time to time or i'll go crazy/burn out

1200 is about my max without blowing it up at a poker table.

Yeah when I did 2000+ hours it was in a super soft game and I played like a super nit. If you asked another player who was at the game probably nobody would even notice me.

8am-3am 6 nights a week your a BEAST!! I do 40 hours a week pretty comfortably but it's pretty much my limit and have previously had a week where iv put 70 hours but to do that consistently would degrade my quality of life.

I play in London and was able to made 37k doing 35 hours a week between jan 11- jan12 playing strictly 1-3. Took some months off invested my life roll into a property and in august basically started again with 5k ran it up to 15 been playing 2-5 and 5-5 since with the odd hour or two playing 1-2 if I'm waiting for a game. My roll is now 38k but includes a 7k tourney win and iv taken one unsuccessful shot at 5-10 but intend on studying and receiving some coaching and heading right back soon.

40k is definitely achievable at low stakes but it IS top 5% of player pool, as for moving up it's definitely harder for some. Those who have high monthly outgoings and loads of Life leaks, playing for a living is hard work and there a lot of discipline required in every aspect of your life.

Can I ask wat people hourly rates are strictly during wsop time for 2-5 and/5-5 games if anyone has logged? Quite curious if there's a big difference compared to their normal hours coming to Vegas for 2months end of may.

Like I said about me putting those hours in I mean I was really really nitty. It was like if I said to you hey just be awake from 8pm to 3am. It was like going out to dinner and watching sports with friends except playing 4 or 5 hands of poker a night.

This is all 1/2 & 1/3 from last 2 years. I know this will sound ridiculous, but my winrate suffered a lot in 2012 from boredom/"hero calls"/making calls pegging a range on 1 hand haha......none of it matters though. Just figured maybe someone get a decent idea of something since I thing this is most hours shown by anyone.

The dead spots in graph are most likely times when I was on vacation for 2 weeks or so or just didn't feel like playing.

If I kept 100% discipline and didn't turn into a disinterested robot in 2012 I can see $30/hr. I started taking more "chances" in obvious fold spots in hopes of not having to grind because I burned out a bit.

I played 1300 hours at $2/5 last year. I believe I play in one of the most profitable rooms in the country, and made a little over $50/hour for the year, netting right under 70k last year.

How do you guys post pics of your pokerjournal?

Cool I think it worked, thanks! These are my $2/$5 results from last year. It is possible to make 100k/year in the room if you put in the hours. I recently got an apartment across the street, so this year I am attempting it.

Only played 15 hours this weekend, with 13 coming on Saturday.

The tables on Sunday were so old and reg infested at the Borgata I dumped 1 BI and said F this.

Updated stats for 2013:

Gonna be down next weekend again with a 20 hour minimum goal.

(oops: Just realized x axis is sessions, not hours.. but regardless, proof right there of a -28 BI swing for a player who crushes the game)
