Ok, octuber has finished for me and It's time to recap:

I playes for eleven days (lazy) for an average of six hours (laaaazy). My winrate was 92$/h.

I'm feeling good but I can't tell if this is a brag (it's 5-10), variance or a "i'm wasting my time here".

November, here we go!

Played 85 hours this month (about half 2/5, half really deep 1/2 home games), ran at $86.37/hr. Ran pretty decent but nowhere near god mode, wonder how ridiculous my take could have been if I legit got hit by the deck.

Just curious what the worst downswing (consecutive buy-ins lost) some of u have had playing 1-2? I'm mostly looking for longterm winners experiences here. So if your winning $10+/hour or more over 500+ hours whats the worst downswing you've experienced?

run 85/hr is ok? hahaha if i ran like u i would say i ran good. ur home game must play really deep.

BTW after playing brm again i ahd 3 winning months, 1 month where i played like 3 times only, just bought another home lost 400, and then oct where i dropped close to 1200 in live 2/2, 3/5, and online mtts donking it up.

But Nov is my month

im not a pro but there was a time where for 6months or so i avged 30-35 hrs a week in my cardroom. i think the worst downswing i can remember was like 10 BIs in a row without booking a win.

But i play in CA where the max BI for 1/2, 2/2 is 100. also after tht downswing i changed the way i played, i was pretty bad back then, not tht im good now, just really bad back then.

I mean, I have pretty epic game selection since I only go to Foxwoods on the weekends and just go home if the lineup at the underground/home games don't look that good. If you adjust for that then it's not that absurd to run at over 80/hr without being on a ridiculous heater.

ran like god in october, ran at 70e per hour in 1/2. still maintain i was unlucky as got sucked out badly in one session. played only 4 5hr sessions though so variance played its part

Brag - ran like God too in the sense that fish kept randomly spewing 100 BB+ pots to me that were so random than the other regs were like WTF just happened on multiple pots. I must have looked terrible since people were straight donating. Was playing super straight-forward at 2/5. Up 16 buy-ins in 12h of total play LOL. Wish that was anywhere near sustainable.

110 hours for the past 2 weeks at 1/2 at 16.5/h including non-poker related expenses, can't complain but I wish I could run like god like everyone else in this thread seems to be doing.

5 BIs at 1/2 over 3 sessions. This is over a sample of 210 hours with a $24.59/h WR..

I have historically capped my downside to 2-2.5 BI's a night. I feel that caping my BI's per session has helped fend against massive downswings. However, occasionally this results in me spending more time commuting to/from the casino than actually playing...

I think playing style also plays a large role. My style has also helped against large downswings.. I play TAG. I believe LAG's would have larger downswings.

I was playing at the Horseshoe, where they allow electronic devices. One of my tighter opponents set his smart phone on the rail and was playing a video game. A video game!

I complained and was told the Horseshoe Chicago allows electronic devices at the table. I said then I'll bring my Nintendo next time.

Or maybe my wife and I will play at the same tables and text our hands back and forth. Or maybe I'll run all-in ev calculations in big pots.

I mean, what a freaking joke!

Have had an 12bi upswing over the last 10 days (38hrs). I needed it, as I had been on a 70hr-ish break even stretch.

I read a quote by Luke Kim-

"There are not too many jobs in which there is a 40% chance that your compensation on a given day is below zero."

And wondered if this was a true win rate of a person playing poker for a living.

It appears that Luke expects to win in 60% of his sessions, is this reasonable?

Thoughts?

Are you good ? how is the rake/player field where you play ?

(From what I've heard 25$/hour is considered a good winrate for NL200 live)

fwiw, probably been said a million times, but there is a reason the only people reporting >=20 bb winrates happen to have statistically insignifigant sample size... dont know why you guys dont understand this...
