Playing 2080 hours of 1/2 to buy a fancy whip sounds like the worst idea I've ever heard. Sink that time into some self improvement.

I don't know, I'd like to encourage anyone that wants to try such a pursuit to go for it. He's always got a spot at my table.

Impossible to say. A lot of online winners failed at live poker. I don't think it's reasonable to say anyone would have an expected winrate of 10bb+/hr right out of the gate with no experience playing this particular game/level.

BTW, have you seen the cars that 1/2 players tend to drive? LoL

I was absolutely crushing 1/1 when I played but 1/2 I don't have a lot of hours. Sorta switched to being table and slots player but starting to realize that is a bigger money pit than a nice car. I have strong poker fundamentals not sure if I have the patience for that many hours of poker. I already have a 2012 Lexus es350 pretty sweet ride but looking to have that for commuter car the Q50 for my nice weekend or out for a evening car.

Nothing wrong with that. Would be a pretty interesting thread for Poker Goals & Challenges especially if you end up buying the car.

you are talking about putting in 1300 hours and basically playing your A game 100% of the time, since theres no way youre averaging $25/hr at 1/2 if youre not. its very hard to do this even when you have no other obligations and need the money as your main source of income. doing this on top of working a 40-50 hour/week job is almost impossible, you might be motivated right now but once you actually have to put in the work you will lose your motivation very quickly. the amount of patience and discipline it take to do this is unreal. and i have read your posts in the degen thread you would need a lot of improvement in those two categories in order to do something like this.

Im just dreaming really. First off, my spouse doesn't approve me spending that much time in the casino due to past degen behavior. I also live in NY so the closest poker room takes 90 minutes to drive to. And I doubt I have the patience or discipline, also the games are probably tougher now than ever. Lastly I am making from 55-70 per hour working, so seems silly to not just pick up shifts instead. I just like the idea of buying something nice soley with poker money and I want to do this although it may have to be a nice watch or something instead of a Q50! Foxwoods has that Rolex store, I wonder if I could just keep grinding until i get one

Kinda confused and if you have touched on this and I missed it,l I apologize. So you have a regular job that pays your other bills or you play poker for a living? If you have another job obv getting in the hours is impossible. Whats the rest of the story?

Nevermind i see your reponse came as I was typing this

So what android app are people using to track live results? I see a lot about poker journal but it appears to be iOS only.

Yep there's nothing wrong with setting goals like that I would just make it more realistic. 1300 hours on top of a full time job isn't realistic. I work FT also I set a goal at the beginning of the year to play 500 hours and I'm not even gonna get very close to that. If I play more than 4 sessions in a month I start to get burnt out, start playing bad and feel like I need to take two months off to recover. Putting in a lot of good hours is hard.

Putting in a lot of good hours while also working 40+ a week is exceptionally hard, unless you have zero other obligations.

Starting to think about switching to other software. Had same problem you did, I deleted/reset Poker Journal and it loads faster initially but slows down a ton over time. Plus it always tends to lose at least two weeks of data in the process of resetting...

Yes I am a winning player but never put in enough hours. Or I was I should say a few years ago. Last time I played I won but I also
Hit a gutshot and everyone called
My all in. I made a bad call on flop turn hit I got paid. Due to not able to play a lot of hours I often figure why grind for
Possible $100-200 I'll play tables for possible 1000. But it is costing me dearly and I must stop that hAbit
