Obviously I've been playing way too much Omaha hi-lo. My first thought was, OK, AAx2 is a monster, AKx4 is kind of dodgy, but why on earth would you play KKx2 and QQx3?

---
Not that anyone cares, but I'm 3.5 hours away from the nearest cardroom so back to grinding online. It's fun, but not as fun as playing live.

Hoping to make either Vegas in late June or back to Tunica in late July.

Are you still in the Confederacy?

Yep yep. Starting school in Michigan in the fall, though, so I can explore the casinos of yet another region.

Headed for the Aria this weekend. I want to check it for my WSOP runs this year, never stayed there, I hear its nice and comparable to the Wynn my normal booking this time of year. Don't know how much (if any) play time I will book, mostly just want to check it out and RELAX.

BTW, check your mail the Wynn has a rake back deal during the WSOP if you did not see it. There is a post in B&M with the details if they did not email you.

Are you going to scUM? BAD for casinos, and chicks, and college football.

Eli elezra, doyle (who almost ran over my foot!!) Jen harmon, johnny chan, chau giang, and a few others playing in bobbys room right now. Looks like some game mix 2k 4k.
05-21-2010 , 06:55 PM
Doyle was whining in his last blog that Eli was in Israel and nobody wanted to start a game with him. I wonder if he even stopped at his house before going to Bobby's room.

So much for the big game moving to the Aria's "Ivey's Room."

Lol really? I mean they're all just sitting right over there doing their thing right now

Forgot how soft this bellagio 2-5 is. Being down in it infuriates me. Losing 400 at 15 BJ in 14 min (while waiting for midnight steak and eggs for 4.99 no less) infuriates me more. Those steak and eggs ended up costing a whole lot more than expected.

Isn't it law that any time you decide jut to have dinner at the table turns into your most expensive meal ever?

Playing $1/$2 at Niagara today (here now, 4th on the list and every table is full.) My buddy (a sick degenerate craps player that gets comps out the ass) is here watching the hockey game and so he bought me lunch (on the house.) If ur down here (or gonna be) look me up... Hopefully I'll be the guy with the monster stack of chips lol.

Does anyone have an opinion on when the cash games in LV during the WSOP season are best? I'm aware that if you ask 19 different people you wil get 20 different answers but nonetheless who has an opinion?

Zolotow had an opinion in this month's CP, no spoilers!

Two birds with one stone here...

I was there when you posted your question, went to check out the Aria. It was nice, didn't play a hand of poker from Friday thru now. The poker room seems nice, did not do anything more than railbird for a few minutes. The rooms and service where nice too. But without being able to point to anything, I think I will continue to stay at the Wynn. I guess I just feel most comfortable staying there.

Anyway, games during the WSOP... First note that I don't typically play below 5/10 when in LV so this is a little basis.

I try to make every weekend during the series, typically playing Friday and Saturday then coming back home. IME the first 2-3 weeks are hot, then it fades off until about a week or so before the main, then it gets hot again.

IMO a good sslnl player will be able to find a good-excellent 1/2 to 2/5 games just about any day during the series if they are willing to hop rooms looking.

Edit to add: They have a bunch of $1000 events this year that I don't think they have had before. This might bring more people in on the weekends this year, helping fill out those low weeks between the beginning and end of the series.

Just as a note, be careful during the series, lots of people looking to make an easy score during this time. It seems like for the last 2-3 years you hear stories of people getting ripped off, generally because they left money or high denomination chips on the table unattended.

Percula you're in vegss right now? How's the poker been treating you? Games have been generally fantastic at the 2-5 level this weekend so far. The weather has been cold and sucky tho.

You live there are just visiting? I'll be up in there Wednesday night posted at the V. LMK if you'll be there. Wouldn't mind putting some faces to names and hanging out shooting the sh**.

Nah I live in the bay area, in town until monday, have not been able to play too much with friends and gf in tow, but the ballys bellagio and mgm 2 5 games have all been good. The bellagio was very good with lots of spazzy shoves and hopeless hero calls with 4th pair but I ended up down a little bit. Mgm was pretty donktastic too stations everywhere. Ballys was a little weak tight nitty.

I came back this AM. Was there Friday afternoon/night and all day Saturday, left early this AM. I did not play a hand and worked very hard on doing absolutely nothing.

If I could learn to run good I would be making money hand over fist!

Having lived in the valley of the oven for 10+ years I have learned to LOVE the weather this weekend! It will not last and will be replaced with 110°F+ highs soon enough. We already had two days with >100°F highs this last week... In another 2-3 weeks and we won't have a day under 100°F unless we get a big thunderstorm until sometime in September... IME the weather in LV is very similar during the summer to PHX.

Lost and The Pacific are finally over and I can begin downloading the whole season to watch them commercial-free and without having to wait a week or more between episodes.

Now the question is, can I manage to watch Lost without a spoiler coming from somewhere to ruin it for me? I already know I can't read certain people's facebook updates.

The Pacific was a good series, not quite as good as BoB, but still good.

Treme is running now, and while it is slow to get going like the Wire was, it has potential. True Blood is starting up again in a couple of weeks. Weeds should be starting back up soon too...

Exactly what is Treme about? Watched the first episode, and could not tell where it was headed.

Well to date we are following a group of Katrina survivors that all seem to have some kind of connection to each other, kind of a 7 degrees of KB type thing. It looks most likely he is focusing on politics and corruption in this first season and all the **** that happens with that when you have a major disaster on top of it.

The primary driver behind this series is the same guy that did the Wire. Based on what he did with the Wire, he takes his sweet time developing the characters and the situations.
