Pack favored over steelers 2 1/2

everyone says bet steelers, i never win so 2 + 2 = I should be bet on Pack. hahahah

Im outting 500 on Packers, my only logic is I never win when I listen to a popular opnion. So im gonna do the opposite.

Funny LC hand of the day.

Tilty is tilting. Hard. After he's felted once again he asks the chip runner for $300 in chips for our 1/3 NL game. The chip runner comes back with the chips, he puts $200 in his pocket, and then puts the other $100 squarely into the middle of the table from UTG, blind before his cards are dealt. "Come and get it" he says. UTG+3 is a tightish reasonablish enough player (big stack too, thanks to an earlier QQ suckout vs KK) and is mulling over how to play his hand when MP+2 inadvertently says "I'll call". Now we've never seen MP+2 before and he seems like he might be a little noobish (especially with the acting out of turn here). He hasn't done anything ******ed in the half hour he's been here (3betting preflop with AA the only hand he's really been involved and getting it all in vs tilty) so his desire to call is a little concerning (even though he's only got $80 left behind after the out-of-turn call). UTG+3 mulls this over for a while before making an obvious tough muck. It's then folded around to me in the BB (with MP+2 being the only caller) and I wake up with JJ. Meh? I decide to put MP+2 all in, he calls.

Pot $460. Hero JJ. MP+2 TT. Tilty Q5 off. I'm only a 57% favourite. Then UTG+3 pulls his cards out of the muck and shows JJ. Rats, now I'm only a 49% favourite.

T on the flop and I'm drawing stone cold dead.

Won my playoff pool w/spreads. Well actually tied for first and we gonna chop. Maybe the negative variance is gone? Play poker and see what happens!

(oh and I took GB -4 and Steelers -3.5, guess I should a let you all know so that you could win monies.)

My heater continues.

Flop nuts/second nuts. Get paid.
Ship J-high flop with AA, get called by K-J, board pairs preventing the river king from giving me an ugly beat.

EZ game.

and paying the ridiculous $20 rake on each huge pot you take down, obliterating what would be an astronomical winrate into what probably is still a very respectable one.

you should come out to the other game tonight, its much more reasonable but admittedly its not even close to as soft.

I don't know about the other one, but I am all ears. Mondays fit my travel schedule much better.

The only positive on that rake is that they do put that some of that money back into play, which helps a little.

Should have racked up the other night +$500, but stayed 30 minutes too long and made one hand into a trainwreck, and cashed out up $350.

Championshipppppppp!

Sweatin hard. They want us to coach these kids on Wednesday for 90 minutes and then have their first game on Saturday. Im just gonna teach them tackle people and then when they get called for a foul they will tell the ref in their best Barkley voice, "Thats turrible, just turrible ref."

"Meh" is the sound you make when you are presented with something that is middle of road, blah, nothing too special, etc, etc. Its a feeling, response, not a thing.

E.g. Meh whatever, I guess thats cool.

"tWas brillig and the slithy toves did gire and gimble in the wabe
all Mimsy were the borrograves, and thr momwraths outgrabe."

can someone explain this to me? I'm lost.

Been running like God playing HU PLO on stars, so haven't been around lately.
I'm sure I'll be back when I hit that 20 BI downswing.

OMG OMG OMG Kurt is back. Maybe it's time to start posting again!

On a side note, anyone ever talk about poker during an interview? I'm all about trying to find some common ground with your interviewer to not only build a rapport but make yourself memorable when thanking them later. I have poker listed on my resume anyways, so if it gets brought up...

Well fellas, for anyone interested, I hit my 1st downswing tonight and lost 1.5BI's (€300)

I lost two 50BB (€200 total) coinflips AK < JJ and ironically JJ < AK.

I also lost a 72%/28% for another 50BB's (€100) in a another AIPF with QQ < JK (K on turn)..

.. the funny thing is I feel totally okay about it and really took it well (I surprised myself tbh cos I often go into a thermo-nuclear rage after a similar sequence of turbulence online).

Still up €800 all-in-all since I started semi-grinding LLSNL this month so feeling pretty good all things being equal.

Lol, I thought the same thing. But I was not going to reply. I know most players lose 3 or 4 buyins on any given day. Sometimes 6 or 7 over a bad swing of days.

Talking about poker is -EV on an interview. The Reid attempt to get on-line poker legalized failed because to much of the American public, poker players are degenerate gamblers. It isn't as bad as it was when people would cross the road to avoid walking on the same side of the street as Doyle Brunson, but privately many think it is like admitting you hit the bars 4-5 times a week. Maybe you can handle it long term, but probably not.

Most interviews are tag team events and it only takes one person who hates gambling to black ball you. Don't take the risk. Take poker off your resume. Your resume is getting 86ed a lot for that reason allow.
