well my new years go was to finally set aside a BR for myself and profit 10K this year playing 2/2 and 3/5. Maybe for some of you guys this could be done in 2 months but i go play maybe 3-4 a month if im lucky.

either way today started off bad since i busted out of tourny and lost 70 playing 2/4 while waiting for the nl game

i ended up up 110 after sht load of hours, close to 9-10.

so added new years go is no more tournies and no more limit, i hate tht sht i dont know why i play tht.

also gonna deposit 500 online and grind again.

oh BR is 2K live, gonna only ply 2/2 and 4/8 O8 limit until i get to 5k then play 3/5 buying in 300 at first until i get more money. Max BI for 2/2 is 100 here and 3/5 is 200-500.

On the plus side, at least your Facebook status about food won't make me say FML as a I eat a bologna sandwich in front of the tv in my boxers.

Just wanted to float an idea and get some opinions.

Some other forums have started a line check containment thread.

Quote:
Post all action, don't post results.

Post hands here that you are almost certain you played correctly but just need confirmation so you can get rid of that tiny little bit of doubt in your mind. Preferably these are hands that require a simple "wp", "good line", etc. kind of reply. Leave strat discussion to a minimum or it might make this thread very confusing if it does take off. Post only complete hand histories (without results). If replies seem to show that your hand really isn't as standard as you thought it to be, you could always just post a separate strat thread.

This can be hands you lost even though you think you played correctly.

Or it can be just be confirming that your line was standard regardless of results.

The point of this thread is so that you can post super simple or super standard spots that you feel don't really require its own thread. I've personally felt so stupid to post some of the hands I had slight doubts on because they were so standard that I just ignored them, leaving the doubts still bothering me for a while. I'm sure some of you have felt this way before too.
Good idea, bad idea or meh?

I suggest you think about why most new posters don't get called a gimmick or troll and you are.

Dude, I think u should just slow down on the posts a little. Not an insult, just a suggestion. Also, try not to post a hand and then fight with everyone who tries to give u advice (this is actually something I need to work on as well.) Post a response and then (unless somebody asks u a direct question) let the thread build on it's own. Another thing I have to work on (and I think u could as well) is to not post hands that involve 'live' reads (unless ur question is about the 'live' read itself and u've given a very in depth description.)

I hope this advice helps u (and I intend to follow it myself.)

Flop nuts, get insta called by middle set runner runner boat... ugh. I run the worst in that game. I am starting to learn to be a little more passive also.

Had fun with friends, didnt have so much fun playing poker. Ran pretty card dead and chopped some decent sized pots which is never fun. Gonna take another 2 weeks off...

Lately there has been a lot discussed on bad advice and good advice.

So I wanted to start a positive thread. Hopefully some good advice. Will go in this thread.

So my question to LLSNL Forums. What is your key to success?

Honestly thinking there is a singular "key" to success is very detrimental to anyone's success.

Part of the reason I've been able to start crushing live 3/5 is because my many failures in the past when I first started out with poker.

If there had to be any one "key" to success, it would have to be as broad as someone's personality or perspective on their game. They would have to be willing to look at their game at all times and be willing to optimize their plays, how they look at the game, how they manage their bankrolls, how they manage tilt, how they manage their attention at the table, how they manage their spending away from the table, how they manage their life philosophy, how do they learn more about the game, how do they implement knew knowledge into their game, etc. The list goes on.

Philosophical thought is a huge part of poker, as it is in most things. A player should have a guiding philosophy for themselves and for the game that gets them through the bad and the good sides of poker and helps them strive to be better than who they currently are.

If there was any one "key", it would have to be this. After this, every other part of your game is a direct result of your core philosophy.

Knowing my opponents

Playing Tight and aggressive postflop.

Making dicisions under pressure.

Knowing how to bust my opponents with a solid individual plan.

Paying attention to detail.

Positionally aware at all times.

My turn and river play.

Knowing that I play for a living, and there is no need to rush anything.

Always think everything through even if players think I'm taking too long.

Respecting the game=tilt control. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. But we always learn to play another day.

Last but not least, my confidence, realizing we play in a fish pool. Only the strong minded players will survive.

I moved this thread here because this is a strategy forum. The subject is too broad, but can be discussed here if people wish.

I want to give thanks to all of LLSNL. You guys really are great. Without 2+2 I would just talk to myself about poker.

To all those that think I'm annoying. PM me I don't bite. Just another player with heart and dedication.
