The forums is for added experience to my game. Yeah I'm new to poker but not that new. Been lurking forums since I started poker 2 years ago. Sometimes I gain
experience on how to not play a hand. Sometimes I gain experience on how to play a hand.

One thing I do know I went broke with overpairs too many times not to know how to play them. Especially when you first start off you play pairs and big suited aces only.

I'm pass that stage as you can tell by my post and rants on too many AA and KK threads.

ILCD, you are annoying as all get out, but yet, i have faith in you.
you have shown that you ARE receptive to advice, despite your combativeness. and certainly that you are driven.
no one can say you arent a good sport.

heres a hand from Commerce last year during LAPC (coming up real soon!)
in 5/10 (they had over 10-12 games going!)
i'm in BB with 52 limped pot.
flop Q52r
russian dude, w/russian dude sweating him (gay?) bets
i check/call.
turn blank dude bets
i check call
river i dont get counterfeited. big bet
i check raise all in,
he snap calls w/ KK
c'ya. thanks for 150bb!

and this happened multiple times that week!
other asian dude (w/chick sweating him (str8)
limps JJ and ships 120bb to me when hes never good.lol. he got it in on the flop, turned a set, and still lost. (clean river)

advice? don't bluff someone when thier lover is sweating them!
they don't want to be humiliated when shown a bluff, after they folded thier pair.

Lmao @ the Russians. Like the way you played hand1. Make sure your 2pair does not get counterfeited, I'm going to remember that next time I play.

Yeah I know you can't bluff when their loved ones are next to them. But you can shove for value, they will always think your bluffing and make a hero call to lose.

they always call me for some reason i can't figure out why?
overbet shove flop w/ KK, they call it off w/ 22
overbet shove flop w/ AA, they call it off w/ bottom pair.

maybe cuz i act (am) insane at the table.

yesterday: limp UTG AA, every hand is raised, so...
button makes is 40 after a million limpers.
i 3bet to 120
she calls.
I overbet shove in the dark, pull my hat over my eyes, and make it a point to not be interested in the flop.
I wait till i hear the dealer tells me to open my hand.

I played my hand totally face-up, and she still pays it off.
I guess i a capable of playing AK this way, too.
but would'nt vs. this Villian. (who didnt didnt come to t casino to fold pairs.)
then again, maybe i'm a monkey for playing this way;
but if it's profitable, i don't mind being a monkey

.
it's a freeroll vs. a plyr this bad.
see a safe river, and get full value for yer hand, and fold if you get counterfeited. the board pairs, or river a K, I can get away cheap (KQ??). most of the $ went in on the river.
nothing wrong with getting it in on the flop,or turn, but why, when you can freeroll?
01-15-2011 , 11:00 PM
When I get a deceptive two pair I treat it like a set sometimes. Especially 52s or 53s in your case. I'm all ain on flop. Lol

Watching the PCA on espn 2.
01-16-2011 , 04:16 AM
Wow, if you missed the PCA your kidding yourself. Best poker ever on TV. Remarkable final table. Wow I'm speechless right now.
01-16-2011 , 06:01 AM
in this thread we completely misunderstand the concept of a freeroll...

Im going to limp in and call with aces until the river, that way if i get sucked out on i can fold...

not really, he explained it the same as holding the last bet back with a wrap vs set in plo
01-16-2011 , 06:09 AM
Did anyone see the live everyhand final table PCA, lol at the guy dropping out of highschool to play poker.

In the 52 hand it's not a pure freeroll, but mostly.
What I mean is that I can win a big pot, but will lose a small one.
I'm freerollin for the majority of the $, but not all of it.
I forget the exact bet sizing, but he called prob a pot sized raise on the river.
Bad river, I can fold. I'm reducing variance, without losing any value;
vs weak plyrs, you don't need to build the pot as early in the hand because they will put the $ in whenever.
Make sense?

you put his preflop limp range on exactly kk, and he would bet three streets, and would pay off a c/r at the end?

Nh...

Was actually expecting to see AQ/KQ
not suprised to see KK, though.
They are virtually the same hand, equivalents...
Def put him on a strong top pair.
I've got blockers to the sets.
If he limps with KK, I geuss he can limp w QQ,
but these plyrs telegraph the level of their strength fairly reliably

...I'm alright with that lol

Nothing much going on... just discussing the downward spiral of this forum in another thread

I also have given myself a self-imposed ban from posting (strat) in the forum...

...so nothing new really

Based off the fact that for Limit Hold Em I am running at 8.87BB per hour I might quit NL lol...

An average winrate in limit is 1BB per hour lol...

Whats CR? If you mean cardplayer? Then no I didnt spend it there. Thats place is uh... nevermind. I actually didnt play any poker and anytime someone wanted to talk poker I changed the subject. I would get anxiety attacks talking about it. Im starting all over with the role and only playing for fun and things I want to buy Poker was so much better when I did that.

if ANL sticks around. ?

good you're back, Aceplyr,
at least for us!
as for you, the jury is still out about whether it's good or not.

ANL might not be sticking around? That would suck - he is too valuable here for us to let that happen.

Glad to have APD back.

I am also so glad to have found a juicy regular home game. Spent the last 3 sessions slowly building an image, and I can now start throwing a few curve balls. Couple of decent players, and some degenerate reg gamblers with deep pockets and limited skill. How can't I love this set up?
