People say poker is dead. No. You just have to be invited. No hoodie wearing sunglasses ear bots rules nit would last more than 5 mins in this game. The guy with the decision is one of my best friends, but he is having nothing to do with me. At the end you can hear the guy too my left say that's enough, and you can barely hear my buddy say AWWW INN.
Spoiler:
Buddy had JJ. V called with AKs. Nothing to see here.
I only took that first shot before I was busy carving, and the meat was essentially being eaten as it was carved out. Nobody had presence of mind to take any photos
Stopped to get gas. Dude rolls up in a black Cadillac STS. Says to me "Hey man I drive for UberX. I left my wallet at home and just need 10 or 20 bucks to get back home." I look over and he has both the lit Uber and Lyft signs in the front window. And to be clear, it was a late model car that when new retailers for north of 50K.
Has it gotten so bad for the drivers that they have to resort to grifting? Yeah I know there is a whole thread on this that is that away but WTF.
Edit: Maybe he really did? Had his phone with him and asked if he had PayPal. He left to go ask someone else.

Have been asked for cash by alleged Uber drivers 3-4 times now so I suspect that is a grift.
I'm looking at planning my first trip to Vegas this summer, does anyone have any tips/recommendations/links?
I'm looking to do it on the cheaper end if possible and it may be a solo trip for 1 or 2 weeks to mostly play 1/2 and 1/3. I'd guess that going during WSOP would make things more expensive so am I best going either before or after it?
After WSOP is a dead time for poker. Sure, there are always games, but they aren't very good then.
Really, the WSOP doesn't spike prices particularly, and the games are off the hook good. Sadly, most of the dumpy little strip hotels that were good for solo grinders have either closed or remodeled and increased their prices. I used to stay downtown and rent a car, but a lot of the good places to play on the strip are charging for parking these days.
Don't stay at the Strat, Circus Circus, or SLS. Yes they are "on the strip," but it's not a nice area, and there are no good poker rooms in that cluster. Plus you can't even walk through a series of casinos and get an AC break, it's all outside.
Always make sure you know what the resort fees are for each property you're considering, as they don't get added when you're searching prices until the very end when you're about to book.

I see the "My car broke down and I need 10 bucks to catch a bus back to my family in Port Huron" grift has evolved.
