In the 1/2 game I used to play in before moving out West I noticed if I wanted multi-way action I had two options: open really small (like 2.5-4x) or open huge (like 10-20x depending on the game). The small amount didn't surprise me, but the large amount was a nice (and profitable) revelation.

What were some of the differences in ranges you noticed, if any?

Not much of a difference still lots of connectors and one gappers as well as tons of suited garbage. If anything just less unsuited absolute trash.

It seems people will call with lots of garbage that looks kinda pretty if they think it will be a big pot.

No one called because no one had AJo / T8s / 44 / A3s / QJo / etc.

Mind blowing development in the Jussie Smollett case...

Quote:
Jussie Smollett will not be prosecuted for allegedly faking a racial attack, because all charges have been dropped!!! Jussie and his lawyers will address the media at 8:45 AM PT. We will live stream.

Jussie and his lawyers ran to court Tuesday morning in Chicago, where he was facing 16 felony counts of lying to police in the alleged racial and homophobic attack.

Jussie will surrender his $10,000 bond. But, that's it. The case is over.

We're told the State's Attorney, Kim Foxx, told Chicago police she was dropping the case because Jussie would have only gotten community service if convicted and she said he has already performed community service so there is no point in prosecuting him. We could not find any record of Smollett doing community service.

We're told Chicago police are "furious" and feel something untoward is going on with Kim Foxx.

Only thing that would happen? What about the felony that would then be on his record?

Fine work by the justice system imo

03-26-2019 , 03:28 PM
Was searching my old files and found a few 25nl stars histories from 10 years ago.

Holy **** somehow I was worse even worse at poker than I am now.

I thought there was one in OOT, but I can't find it. With that said, I had the same thought about 15 years ago. I like to cook so thought this would be right up my alley. Problem is you are going to spend the better part a day getting your wort ready for fermentation and in 2-3 weeks you will spend ALL day bottling. I'm sure the technology is much better today, but after spending ~$300 on hardware + whatever the ingredients cost and the time involved, I made a grand total of 2 batches and quit. Just not my thing at the time.

Here are a couple of links. One is an EASY recipe for all of the BS involved and another to a beginners bundle of hardware. Keep in mind if you do get the bug you will want all of the new shiny toys to brew with and a grand is suddenly gone. Actually been thinking about doing it again since I have more time on my hands now than I did back then.

I'm only half-sarcastic saying I'm glad were getting back to the basics of looking the other way.

I met the man who invented my favorite craft beer, a cactus ale. He told it as a pbs worthy child tale of brewing in his basement for 20 years before finally deciding to gamble by opening his own bar. With all the details he rattled off about what can and cannot go into beer I imagine there is a long period of trial and error. OFC you can probably skip it via the internet.

Fold4Once does, if he ever pokes his head in here again. Somewhere ITT, there are reviews of craft beers he brewed and sent to me to try.

I'm not usually a fan of herbed beers. My friend made a spruce rauchbier once that tasted like a forest fire, and I've been off them ever since. So I approached this beer with suspicion.

Nose is very delicate in the bottle with an obvious aroma of thyme. Poured into a glass stein, it developed a head very similar to the Mosaic IPA's, and color and bubbles are also similar. Flavor is crisp, with a pronounced thyme middle and then a fade to a delicate hops/thyme aftertaste. I suspect that this is the same base recipe as the IPA, but with less of a different hops (cascade?) and the addition of thyme. Hops and thyme complement each other much better than I thought they would, better than spruce and hops, which seem superficially more similar.

This is not a session beer. The thyme flavor, even though not super-strong, is too outre for drinking unpaired. It would go very well with chicken, though. I would normally say that this beer needs more body, but I think the thyme may not complement a big taste as well as the more crisp flavor here. 3.05/5 on the "I'm no beer judge, but I know what I like" scale.

Overall, Fold4once is an accomplished brewer, who seems to put most of his thought and effort into the hops. For my personal taste, I think more malt would allow a longer transition between the front taste and the aftertaste and would complement the hops nicely. Only one of the beers had yeast interference. In the others, it was either hardly noticeable or complemented the overall effect. The amber could really be a flagship (prob under an evocative name), and the others were also quite good.

Thank you very much for sending me beer, and I hope the feedback was worth your while! First round's on me at the LLSNL-invades-Vegas's sub-event "LLSNL beer-snobs invade a bar with good craft beers."

Speaking of baseball, here’s my AL East predictions for 2019:

Boston Red Sox: 100W - 62L
New York Yankees: 97W - 65L
Tampa Bay Rays: 87W - 75L
Toronto Blue Jays: 70W - 92L
Baltimore Orioles: 55W - 107L

We just bought our annual tickets to a Blue Jays - Mariners game. Haven't been keeping up with spring training, pretty sure I won't recognize 75% of the Jays.

Wife and I are also thinking of doing a New York trip in the next couple/few years, where a Yankees game will be a must (and possibly Rangers game if we can time it correctly).

At least on the plus side for you GG... when the Jays realized that they might not even sell out opening day, they lowered their concession prices a fair bit. Should be a bit closer to reasonable now.
They won’t be very good for a couple years at least. Their pitching will be horrendous.

At least you’ll get to see Vlad Jr. if it’s May or later

I'll be seeing them in Seattle. Nice ballpark and a great atmosphere (it's a home game on the road for them).
