I know right.

Like when I was 8-12 I used to love running. I would sign up for those walk a thon things at school and run like 50 laps. In middle school I would wake up early and go run a mile before school.

Then I get to high school and throughout JUCO ball and its run poles for this run poles for that. Football same thing, oh Tim can't remember the snap count, how about everyone run some sidelines. Mike can't figure out what a cover ****ing 2 is, how about we run some 100 yards sprints and throw in a couple of bear crawls while you're at it. **** that, never again.

I didn't like running because I didn't know how to run and running isn't something we were taught in gym class. Some kids are natural runners. I am definitely not a natural runner and have had to work on form a lot.

So this is different type of punishment than I had in mind where I was suggesting behavioral problems would warrant extra laps etc etc.

Making mistakes related to the game/sport is different and shouldn't be punished but instead should be treated as an opportunity to be a coach.

Figure out why Tim can't remember snap counts and work on it with him, Mike needs some extra help with defense schemes so figure out a way to help him understand.

Ime, we never ran because someone forgot the snap count once or twice, it was like the 5th time and the coaches were getting aggravated because it slowed down practice, but they also wouldn't make the whole team run, just the specific group who ****ed up, like 1st team O, so while they ran laps, 2nd team O gets a few reps in. I'm not saying this is better/worse, just was my experience.

Honestly never thought about that I hate running because of the negative connotation from other sports, but it makes sense. I'm also a **** runner, though. My wife ran in college and laughs at my running ability.

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***

I realize that I've been using this thread as a personal blog lately, but it is at least alleviating some of my suicidal thoughts to vent in here, so here's another update:

I decided to put my ego away and move down to $5/10 for a session to see if I would do better. Literally my first hand of the day I open QQ in the HJ, get flatted by the CO and 3-bet by the button, who happened to pick up KK. Oops, 150 bb torched away the first hand of the night. Torched as in lost, but I don't really have an issue with how I played it. Spent the next 6 hours grinding out some small pots and eventually booked a moderate 100 bb loss.

The game was pretty good, as random fish are still stacking off 1-pair on flush boards, limp-calling with garbage pre and doing fish things in general. Somehow through all of this, I just have an amazing tendency to pick up strong hands when people have even stronger hands, never hit anything in good multi-way spots vs fish, and every time I have a really nutted hand no one has anything. Sets are honestly a lie. The only time I have sets is when I hit top set vs someone in a HU pot and they fold to 1 bet. This has been the story of 80% of my sessions for the last 18 months.

While I sit there bricking hand after hand and losing session after session, I witnessed today a douchy euro kid 3-bet a rec player from way too early with 43s, call a 4-bet for about 15% of his stack, and just smash two pair on the flop and stack aces for a 600 bb pot. Do I sound bitter and want to strangle that ***** kid? No, that's really just the nature of this stupid and unfair game, and some people are just luckboxes and some people are not. I'm not completely busto yet, so let's try again tomorrow and take it one day a time.

Hmmm, 2 laps around the casino for a bad river call. You might be on to something here.

Poker has basically been this for 4 months for me as well. I suggest reading dgafs thread and checking out his pods. It reminds me that Iím not alone when running like trash.

Hey now, I weighed in at 238.7 this morning. And I'll have you know I'm closer to 5-11 than 5-10.

In football, when I ran much more, I was 170 and close to the same height, still didn't enjoy it. I even did a winter/spring in HS when I was running 20ish miles/week with one of my XC friends. I got remarkably better at running very quickly, but just never got a real feel for it

+1 for me too for about 6 months. I recently went through a 60ish hour stretch (which I only play 20-30 hours/month) where I flopped 2 sets. I lost 1 to a rivered overset (AI OTT) and the other to a turned flush (AI OTF).

I don't play at the levels you guys play at, but it's harder and harder to keep justifying going to play when I can't get anything going. That's why I've started looking into other hobbies. I'm trying to get into woodworking and I've been thinking of working on my old car that's been sitting in my garage forever that I never touch. At least if those don't work out, I'm not torching that much cash

I could not sprint run when I was young. I would have asthma like attacks.

Now, this is partly because I was basically Captain America pre super soldier serum.

But also something was legitimate wrong with my body. Docs did a bunch of stress tests and I’d always have those weird attacks but they confirmed it wasn’t asthma. Diagnosis was a shrug and “well try not to run fast I guess” which is probably where my deep rooted hatred for doctors began.

Weird thing is I have super high endurance now. I can hike or kayak for miles without feeling tired, and usually leave my group in the dust. But short sprint type things still make me sick. Giving enemies ammo here but I legit blacked out playing touch football last thanksgiving.

Why are you jamming QQ in that hand, sabr? Seems like in that configuration you're up against a polarized BTN range and a CO range we crush. OTOH, being OOP with QQ vs two villains sucks.

I guess my advice is to get a psychiatrist and run better bruh.

The lols just keep coming from the college admissions cheating scandal...

Quote:
Lori Loughlin's daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli was spending spring break on a University of Southern California official's yacht when her mother was accused Tuesday of involvement in a college admissions scheme, reports said.

Giannulli, 19, was on Rick Caruso's luxury yacht Invictus in the Bahamas, a report said. Caruso is chairman of USC's Board of Trustees.

Giannulli, who currently attends USC, was with Caruso's daughter Gianna and several other friends, the outlet reported.

"My daughter and a group of students left for spring break prior to the government's announcement yesterday," Caruso told TMZ. "Once we became aware of the investigation, the young woman decided it would be in her best interests to return home."

It's so moronic - they should have stuck with the old-fashioned way of bribing and donated a library or something.

Exactly. Why they risk double cheating when there is already an outlet for this sorta thing?

I feel like bribing someone would be the easiest crime to get away with, I don't know how they manage to screw it up.

Living abroad and being withdrawn from media can lead to some interesting stuff. I just heard about the Smollett thing and wonder if it being all revealed to me at once made it seem more surreal, but just wow. If I saw this in a movie, I'd call it far fetched nonsense and complain that no one could be that stupid.

Jamming QQ first hand against an unknown's 3b, even from the button, for 150bb, seems bad to me.
