Funny hand from last night:

I'm in BB (10), there is straddle, villain is in CO and we're ~2.8 eff
- folds to Vil and he opens for 80, folds to me an I flat AJ straddle folds.
- Flop: AT4. I c/c 140
- Turn: K. I c/c 380
- River: K. I lead 550 (villain is too bad to realize this is a good bluff-shove spot with his whole range, and he will only raise with FHs. Do hate paying AQ... But villain isn't super nitty so I figured I can vbet small / block). villain calls & MHIG.
(planned on maybe potting/overpotting diamond rivers too)

Rofl the hands you post masa. Euros suck at poker.
07-21-2012 , 01:33 PM
I play loose. Gotta vbet thin (moreso when FD whiffs)

Like I said tho, great spot for villain to ship all his hands. My range is capped.

You don't slow play on wet board for balance?

Don't like that idea... lemme think on it.

Joking dude.

I did do that against a player that was trying really hard to play good poker and stacked him pretty hard.

They diffused 4 bombs this morning in the movie massacre apartment. Dude really is going to get the death penalty.

^ k. I think I would always fast play my sets/2pr... Don't want like 25% of the deck to come kill action.

No because he was just a guy trying to have a good time gambling and wasn't a jerk. The guy next to me, captain pro... Can't stand that guy. He once bluffed me in a pot, showed the bluff and then used his hands/fingers like they were pistols, pointed them at me and then blew the barrells. So here is a hand that captain pro played.

BB has about $800
1k has about $700
CP has about $800

There is a $5 straddle. I fold UTG, CP calls $5 UTG+1, about 3-4 more callers and BB pops it to $50. BB is my friend and he can make moves, but when he is stuck this is never a move. He has a good hand here, but w/e. Straddle guy (1000bb guy) calls $50. CP calls $50.

Flop

6d Jh 5d

BB (friend) bets $75 ( this is a $100 max bet game keep in mind)
1k calls $75
CP tanks and then calls $75

Turn 7c

BB checks
1k checks
CP bets $100
BB calls (I am not sure about this call. I am not sure what he is trying to acomplish here because OTR he said he's folding to another bet. I think if you are calling here you are calling rivers... Amirite?)
1k calls

River 8d

Checks through

CP shows 66 (the whole way through the hand I am thinking what the hell does he have that he limp/calls $50 pre and the. That board smacks him? I never thought he could have a set on that board. Just seemed impossible)

BB mucks (he had QQ)

1k slow rolls J9hh for the straight OTR (he was smacking rivers alllllll night)

@BigSkip I'm not going to lose any sleep you ignoring me. Its not my fault you compare apples to oranges. Your whole intent was a malicious attempt to out me and prove me wrong. When plenty of outstanding posters you respect think otherwise. The fact that you pmed me and put me on ignore is childish. You know I can't pm you back.

Gl

Someone please quote this post so big skip can see it.

i know this has been said before but im pretty much convinced that 2/5 games are softer than 1/2 in general. 2/5 gets all the losers with big egos and gamblers. 1/2 gets all the nits and people that, if they are going to play and lose, are determined to lose small and leak slowly.

I mean, everything about that hand is turrible. I get that you are a winner but those games are absurdly good.

ike i might be in your games soon. shall i introduce myself?

It comes down to the value of money and the psyche of the players playing. Average raise in 1/2 is too big compared to the blind structure. $8-$10 dollars is not respected. People buy meals and would dare put that amount of money in their gas tanks. 2/5 has better dynamics, the average raise is not $40-$50. Which is compared to the average 1/2 raise which is $15-$20.

Bad, bad Ike. I've done this 3 times or so and it confuses the hell out of the fish.
guilty of this as well.

I've found that usually the droolers are too busy drooling to understand though.
They'll always say something like "hahahahah that's funny I had two pair!!! I wasn't bluffing!"ff

Sure why not? 11t came and sat on my left. He moved to a neutral seat though and then we crushed.

Hopefully you're not the reg I just told was terrible because he flatted AA OOP to a 4bet 100bb deep.
07-21-2012 , 08:28 PM
Run good continues. +2.7 today at the moment.

Really tilted by this hand tho. (5/10/20 3k eff) villain is good LAG winning reg.

- Vil opens 60 MP, I 3b AQcc 170 CO, Vil call
- Flop: AT8ss. Vil c/c 240
- Turn: 2o. Vil c/c 550
- River: Jo. Vil lead 1.3... I fold

He showed me K9ss... Insta tilt
07-21-2012 , 08:32 PM
I desperately want in your game.
07-21-2012 , 08:35 PM
yeah I saw a job opening in Germany/Austria. Makes me think I should go.

in my defense I didn't realize I sat to your left until I sat down and took in the scenery!

Villain is really good. He knows you don't have A10/AJ in your range.

Sick move by villain.
07-21-2012 , 08:51 PM
^ what, you guys think I gotta call there with AQ???

Too many hands in his range beat me... And he can value bet well (as in, any 2prand AK)

actually, AT/AJ are in my 3b range (vs. him). It's just really good river to bluff against specifically AK/AQ
07-21-2012 , 08:57 PM
I'm not folding, all the hands you worried about you have blockers to.
