I almost blew it with a small leak I see from lots of regulars, but I thought I had conquered.
This drunk fish had been doing butt sex to me and I was kind of annoyed that he kept taking my stack and distributing it to the rest of the table. I flopped top 2 with KJ on KJx. Finally! I get decent action from him.
Naturally, Turn ten. River Ace.
He bets like 1/3 pot. The pot is like $200 at that point. I unhappily call. He looks at me. He says what have you got? I actually start to force him to show first, like a moron. The dealer tells him he has to show first. I snap out of it and quickly say, 2 pair, and turn my hand over. He lifts his cards so I can see them, and folds his Q5.
I would guess I win about 1 pot like this per year that I know of. I lose at least 2 or 3 where the other player just turns his hand over for the hell of it, not knowing he has me beat.
I think the majority of regular players are rules nits in these spots, which is very dumb, particularly against drunks or huge rec fish who play poker like once a year, when there are 4 or 5 to a straight or flush on board, when your 2p have been counterfeited, etc.
Stayed home with the pooch, who is on bed rest for what the vet thinks is a pulled neck. So more home workout stuff. Starting a 100 pushups for 30 days challenge tomorrow with the misses.
Feel like I'm spinning my wheels. Macro tracking has been good and I've been eating mostly nutrient dense food on keto.
I have to remind myself that it's a process. I'm sore from lifting legs the other day so I'm going to take 1 more day to recover before hitting the gym.
Sushi and soy sauce had it's effect. Woke up not in ketosis but have slipped back in by EOD. Skiing tomorrow, rest/deload week is done and it's back to the program Monday.
So my goal last month was to lose 10 lbs and I managed to lose 5 lbs. It's still a win for me since the scale is moving in the right direction.
I've decided to set my goal for 10 lbs again this month. I'll have a few extra days + I'm slowly ramping up cardio and have a 4 day split lifting program now. It's 2 upper body days and 2 lower body days. All compound movements and then I have some optional isolation exercises I can do to wrap up my lift.
