I'm a firm believer that a lot of back pain can be relieved by stretching. Things like tight hammies, glutes, hip flexors and even your frontal core area can cause backpain.

Probably nothing, but better to be safe than sorry.
Have you tried chiropractic care? Tricky since such a huge percentage are complete quacks. But a high quality one can be great for back trouble.

Great advice guys, thank you.

I'm with turtle WRT stretching - I'm gonna give that a shot first. Still, this pain is different and localized enough where I've got some concerns about what's causing it.

I've got a family history of pancreatic cancer and this is how it starts - lower back pain, gut issues. Gotta keep an eye on it and eliminate all possibilities.

Stretching, icing, foam rolling have all been very beneficial to me for my back

Good luck

Down 1.6 lbs after a week. Last 3 days have been a disaster. Felt like ish today but should be back on the grind tomorrow.

Down 2.1

Had 2 bad meals. If I can cut that to 1 per week and start doing cardio 2-3x a week, I think they will melt off faster.

Are taking fat burners out of the equation? I find they help me even if it's just a placebo

Is drinking 10-12 cans of Diet Coke a day bad for me? It has water right? Caffeine curbs appetites right? How can I go wrong....?

I know this is in jest, but realistically you could drink 120-144 oz of worse liquids for losing weight

In. Going to get Feeler's input for workouts.

Details to follow. Mostly just working on working out regularly. I know diet is essential, but I just want to establish a work-out routine for the first month.

Picking 20 pounds as first goal. Have 80ish to feel comfortable. Then decide whether to go for another 20 to be lean.

Getting in the habit of exercising and cutting out the worst of your diet is key. Biggest thing with exercising is don't kill yourself the first few times where you are incapable of doing it again in 2 days

Agreed. Going to also cut out drinking to about 4 drinks per week (pick a day). Drastically reduce carbs and increase veggies (my view, veggies are mostly good short term because they are high fiber low calorie and therefore filling). Basically go paleo light.

OK you caught me, it's a double IPA.

Fwiw, their Breakfast Stout and All Day IPA(session) are very enjoyable. Their triple IPA Devil Dancer on the other hand, not so much.

Are you planning on having meal replacements for the rest of your life? I'd ditch them and learn how to eat actual food while losing weight.

Been doing it for almost a year, lost and have kept off over 45lbs(and going) since May '15.

I know how to prepare and eat actual food. I've had a registered dietitian create meal programs for each of my caloric goals.

That being said it's too quick, cheap(less than $5/day for 2 meals) and easy to give up now. I still eat plenty of real food, but I've found this really works for me.

@ Turtle: Fair enough

Week 1 day 3

(Days 1&2 I never really panned to get started on, but I weighed myself on Saturday, and I will continue to do so moving forward)

No gym today. Damn kids wouldn't go to sleep so I couldn't go afterwards. Not a huge deal, just getting back anyway after back, wrist and Achilles issues, so I'm not doing too much anyway.

Breakfast: 1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1 tbsp natural PB

Lunch: 4-4.5 oz grilled chicken, ~2 cups spinach, 1 tbsp EV olive Oil, 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Snack: 4-4.5 oz grilled chicken, 1 cup rice, 1 cup veggies

Dinner: 4-4.5 oz grilled chicken, 1 medium baked potato, 1 cup veggies

Snack: 1 cup pineapple, pretzels, fiber bar

All in all not bad for the 1st day. I will get the crap snack at the end of the day out, I'm just used to eating more, so until I get used to it, I'll probably be a little hungry at the end of the day. Plus I didn't gym, that would add protein/milk/banana/PB, which would def help with hunger

* all grilled chicken weight is post cooked. From what I gather 4-4.5 grilled chicken roughly equals 6 oz pre cooked, which what I'm shooting for
