sht stopped playing live for about 8 months due to being broke cuz i bought a house. I go back and win 1100 playing 2/2 and then go on a heater at blackjack and win 500 in 1 hour ( i never win at BJ)

Then have 2 losing sessions at 3/5 for 700 and give back 300 at BJ. 1 of the 3/5 sessions after a bday party, some friends wanted to go gamboolllll. I never drink and gambol for a very good reason but peer pressure got to me and i was drunk as hell. *******s.

Last night playing 1-3...

I take a seat at the main game, buy-in for the max of $200. 4 players at the table have well over $600, one lady with $1000 easy. She was a maniac, overbetting to the sky into $10 or $20 pots. After about an hour of play I'm drooling to pick up a hand and hit a flop because I've picked up several tells off of her and can't wait to get into a hand. Soon enough, I'm in the BB, she's limped in MP and a solid young guy with $200 behind raises the BT to $20. The SB who also has a huge stack flats. I look down at Q10 and decide to go to a flop with it, so I flat, and she flats behind. Flop comes down Q105. SB leads out for $20. I decide to flat as this is not exactly the flop I was looking for and the crazy lady may just isolate herself and I for me. Instead, she just calls. Now the OR and BT tanks and finally comes out with a $75 raise, to a flat $100. At this point I figure the worst he has is AQ, with KK and AA most likely. I expect the SB to muck, but instead he flats! Now I have to commit or muck, and I don't like mucking much, so I shove over the top ($175) with a silent prayer to the poker gods to let me fade the draws and let my hand hold up. Now the crazy lady, true to her nature, asks for a countdown of the OR and BT, and 4-bets (!?!) to $300 (about $100 more than the guys count) so the SB who at this point has done nothing but flat the whole way just calls again. Turn is the J, both crazy lady and SB check. River is the 10. Both check. SB turns over red AA, which beats crazy lady's KJ(!?!), I turn over my tens full, and the OR and BT mucks, says later he had KQ. I take down a $750 pot. After the hand, the crazy lady gets upset because she had mistakenly raised too much and hadn't intended to create a 2nd side pot, blamed the dealer repeatedly, and soon after racked up and left.

After watching a guy go on a 6BI winning session in TWO HANDS (AA > QQ+99 then NF > NS> SET) I was thinking about some of my favourite starts to sessions...

My best is probably me and a casual friend sit in the same game at the same time. 20 minutes in, I flop the NFD from the BB, get it in vs 3 other people on the flop, turn a diamond, river x I win and move from 180 to around 730, beating a lower flushd draw, top two and middle set. Orbit later, I get KQss somewhere in LP. There is a raise to 20 by MP in a 2/3 game, I call cos Im a fish. CO and SB both call, rest clear out.

Flop JT4

SB checks, MP bets I think 50 into about 80. I decide to shove by putting a stack of 25's in (still feels awesome doing that or throwing tigers ($100) in by the handful. CO, SB and MP all snap call, CO for around 90, the others for around 200 each total, though it was so quick, I didnt get all the stacks, as I was busy praying for no-one to have the NFD... The hands

SB: JJ
CO: KK
MP: TT
Me: KQss

Turn 8, river 2 ship the goodness. Maybe an hour of playing, up 6BI, finished up a 1700 or so winning night, that was fun...

My one WOW! from a casino game in terms of BB was when CAZ first started spreading their higher spread limit games. At the time it was 1/2-500 with a 100BB capped BI.

I came in on a Saturday which was scheduled to be their big end of the month MTT. I was there for the 1/2 game though. I sat about an hour before the MTT started, and left after playing about 4 hours.

I started with $200 and cashed out a little over $3400. The game was kind of crazy to say the least! I was running hot, a virtual card rack, had several coolers, and a quite a few "OMG!!! you shoved with that" type of plays too.

Funny part was walking to the cage with a full rack of green birds and another rack full of a mix of greens and some reds, whites... The floor stops me and says...

"Nice, you playing the 5/10"
"Nope, the 1/2"
"WOW! You must have been here all night!"
"Nope about 4 hours, got here a little before the tournament started"
"OMFG!!!..."
"Thanks" with a big smile on my face...

Played a super session yesterday! Built myself a $500 stack in a 1/2 game, then over the course of about an hour lost it all to one guy. The guy I lost it to was the *reason* I was at the table - absolutely incapable of folding anything ever. I don't think I put a single chip in a single pot while I was behind.

Good times.

On the bright side, I think I might have made a poker fan for life.

So I played a somewhat amusing hand the other day at a 2/5 home game:

I open UTG to 25 with two black aces. I end up with three callers so we see the flop four ways, with effective stack sizes being about $1200ish.

(Pot: $107)

Flop: Kd 10d 6h

I fire $75, get called by all three players, which leaves me thinking 'oh boy, time to dodge like 20 turn cards'.

(Pot: $407)

Turn is the Qs. I check because that obviously smashes the crap out of at least one person's range. LAG to my immediate left bets out $250. The other two people call (!!) and getting almost 5:1 I decide to make a (probably spewy) call figuring there's no way my hand is good but a jack would give me the nuts and a 6 on the river would probably give me the best hand too with some implieds against KQ or K10 type hands.

(Pot: $1407)

River is a 3c.

I check, LAG to my left checks quickly, third player squints at the board before checking, and the last player shaking his head a bit in frustration before checking back.

I immediately announce 'One pair' as I slowly dare to hope I might have the best hand. LAG bashfully opens his KJo, third player shakes his head as he flashes 6d7d, and last player shakes his head as he open-mucks QJo.

Ship the 300bb pot over here, as I victoriously flip up my aces in what might have been the sickest hold ever against three hands all drawing super live against me.

Also, I play bad. But that fact bothers me less when I win.

History:

Old lady raises PF, Villain calls. On an eight high rainbow flop, Old Lady c-bets, and Villain shows and folds KK, saying "I don't call Old Ladies."

Villain has $175, I cover.

PreFlop ($3)

UTG +1 limps, Folds to villain in HJ who raises to $10, Hero is SB and has KK. Hero raises to $35. BB folds. UTG+ 1 folds. Villain 4-bets to $85. Hero folds. Villain shows 62.

OMGWTFBBQ!

Bad fold?

Wow... Just wow. My biggest win at 1/2 was around 1100 in like 7-8 hours.

btw Kurt, building from 200 to 500 at 1/2 is super standard. Thats like stacking one fish and winning a couple small pots.

Ya it was special times alright. There was a lot of pent up frustration with the old spread limit betting caps in AZ. It used to be capped at $150 and that room spread a 3/5-150 and a 5/10-150 game. So when they got the cap raised to $500, people kind of went nuts for about a month. The 1/2-500 game was just crazy, combine that with running like a god...

I doubt that type of win in that game will ever be possible again. They lowered the cap to $250 on that game, and people after a year have released all that frustration long ago and from what I hear its a rock garden now. I haven't sat that game in 9 months, and don't plan to anytime soon.

The last two nights I have been taking shots at $2-5. The plan:
  1. Avoid all of the spots I have learned are trouble spots from my 5 years of playing live poker.
  2. Before making any decision about raising, calling, or folding, think about what 2+2 posters here would say about it.
  3. Make no mistakes.
  4. Don't over-play a hand.
  5. Wait for the nuts and get paid.

Preflop($7)
3 limpers to CO who raises to $25. Hero is BTN with AQ.

Hero?

In my head I hear: "Don't call raises with AQ PF."

I fold.

...continues...

blinds call, 3 limpers call.

Flop($145) QQA.
SB bets $100, limpers fold, CO calls $100.

I'm thinking: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I hope CO has aces. Please let the CO have aces. OMFG."

Turn($345): 2
SB checks, CO checks.

River($345): 4
SB bets ($150), CO folds.

SB shows one card: Q.

I had $600, and SB covered me.

Im calling AQ from the button when CO raises and there is 3 limpers ahead. I am pretty sure its not a mistake to do so.

One question for you... Where did you come up with your screen name? It has been bothering me every since your first post. Im guessing your a girl, right? If so, pics or none of this happened.... ( ANL and I are on the llsnl pic mission) If your not a girl... please change s/n and start over.
