No bad beat at this room.

I'll always let folks run it twice if they want. My game is more based on value than FE, and knowing that I'll let them RIT gets me more bad calls from drawing hands.

Neighbouring room had a run-it-twice option. I very rarely played there until it closed, still wasn't sure what the best strat was (I decided never to use the option but could be convinced otherwise). I don't believe any of our remaining rooms allow this option.

Cliffs: Assuming that you are neutral to variance, if your style depends more on FE, refuse to RIT. It it depends more on value, RIT.

oldie but goody:

Old nitty guy limps in EP with like $70. I raise in MP with TT. Nitty dude calls. Flops comes A93r. Nit jams. I plan to fold but take a couple seconds just to mull it over. He flips a card. It's a 9. Did he look before flipping a card? I don't remember. I folded anyways.

3 players limp
villain raises to 1200 in CO
hero raises to 4000 on BTN with Q3o
folds to villain
villain calls

pot is 9400
flop: K63 rainbow

villain checks
hero bets 4000
villain calls

pot is 17400
turn: 9

villain checks
hero checks

river: 3 - no flushes

villain bets 6000
hero calls

villain shows 93o

Hahahahaha classic.
I’ve missed picking off a few super weird spots like this too.

Fold pre. Even if we know V will defend pre with 93o, Q3o is still a super easy fold to a raise.

Well I was obviously 3bet bluffing here, since I had not been playing a lot (if any) of hands for the past hour.
I thought Q3o was one of the better hands I would never flat call here with, so that makes it a good hand to bluff with.
Should I do this with other hands? Which ones?
I did make this play expecting everyone to fold. That's why I was amazed to see villain show up with that. I literally lolled at the table.

I did not realize villain was a huge call station at this point.
He had been playing pretty normal up until this point, or had never had to show down any of these weird hands.

If Q3o is the top of your folding range I'd recommend tightening up pre.

Hero & villain both have 10BB left nearing the bubble in a tournament.

Villain limps from early position.
Hero shoves all-in from middle position.
Folds around, only villain calls.

Hero shows 77
Villain shows AK

Flop: 75J
Turn: 9

Someone at the table: "you can still hit the flush"
Everyone staring intensely at the board looking for a heart.

River: 7

Table goes: "Oooooooooh"
0.5 seconds later table goes: "WOOOOOOOOOOH"

Haha I played a charity tournament and saw a worse reaction. I gii pre KK against villain JT.

It was a self deal game with terrible structure. Entirely designed for raising money for the charity.

Flop: KJ4
Turn:T
River: J

Everyone goes ape crap crazy. Dealer starts pushing pot to the villain. Only villain and I realize that i won out of the 15 people still around.

Since I covered I just keep my hand face up and protected to see what happens (I'm seat 5 and also planning on protecting the board cards. Finally villain stands says "GG" and moves the chips to me. Everyone looks confused and then realized villain was dead on the turn.

+1. If I was super reliant on deep stack play and FE I would consider a once only policy but in general I’m just trying to keep the fish/regs in my room happy.

Since we're opening this to donkaments, I posted this in another forum but this part is relevant here. I was playing a daily tournament at the Golden Nugget in AC.

When we finally got down to the final table I was around third in chips and stayed there for the most part, stealing some blinds and avoiding trouble. The most amazing hand happened when we were approaching the bubble. A woman directly to my left was very short. UTG I saw pocket nines and raised. She thought about it and shipped it for a little more than the bet. It folded around and I called.

She had sevens so I was in good shape until she flopped quads! Oh well, at least she was a short stack. I was eyeballing her stack to figure out exactly how much I owed her when the table had a loud gasp. I looked at the board and saw that the run out was 9-9. Not the easiest way to win a bounty but there are definitely easier ways to get busted out of a tournament!

Reg had been 3! me almost every time I open HJ or later, from BTN or blinds. I folded every time. This time I open KK CO; he 3! BTN (as expected), I 4!, he 5! ships for my $300 effective, I snap and he has AA. Wtf?! Smh.

We got kings in bb, two limper sb makes it 25. Sb plays a lot of hands but kind of knows what he is doing, but Capable of making moves. 25 is already bigger than he usually mAkes it. We make it 90. It folds around to him he goes all in for 1650 in about 10 seconds. It’s 1000 dollar buy in but this is by far the biggest raise I have witness in 3 weeks of grinding this room. We think about it for 30 seconds and shrug call it off and he has aces and we lose.

Last month we are in a hand with omc he makes it 25 this already sets off warning signs because he usually limps without premium hand. (We have like 40 hours with this guy) We make it 70. A complete dumper flats. Back to omc he makes it 240 in about .5 seconds. Every Fiber of my poker experience told me he had aces. But omc was down a buyin this session after making a horrible call. And he was clearly frustrated. With dumper flating in between he is incentivized to 4 bet. Maybe he knows this and is taking his stand with queens. We only have 500 so we aren’t that deep. We go all in he has aces.

Now both times we had decent reads that they probably had us beat. But we shrug called it off and got stacked. And lost 400 bb those hands. These are huge spots for a lot of bb. If we start making smart folds in these spots we can safe are self a lot of bb and increase are win rate.
