hey this forum is kinda awesome and full of familiar faces.

um - why dont we have a "lol, poker" low content thread in here too? BBV is like a pack of wild dogs, i wouldnt mind a spot to post my 1 outers and bad reads that lead to sick suckouts or the opposite end as well in here too. It cant hurt. Just a general low-content thread so we can have a general BS thread to just chat about **** and maybe post the occasional suckout.

EDIT: and i just noticed the suggestion box thread....

Cool...My claim to 2+2 fame

One more from last week. This hand was played by my donkey friend, we were at the same table. Show you why semi-bluff (or any type of bluff on a drawy board) is a bad idea at a live table.

Live 1/2

Friend with $800 at HJ
crazy villian with $300 at UTG (earlier he shoved preflop with 33)
Hero with $350 at SB

Hero delt J3s
Friend delt 9dTd

preflop: Villian and 3 others limp, friend raise to $13, hero fold, all impers call $13

Flop ($68): Js Qs 3d
Everyone checks to my friend, friend bets $30, villian instant shoves for $287, my friend tanks for 5 mins and call.

Turn (~$670): blank

River (~$670): blank

My friend is dissapointed and announces ten high and shows his 9dTd, crazy villian looks at his cards and then my friend's cards and flip opens Ts6s. My friend wins with 9 high kicker.
I was pissed-off with my friend because I threw away J3s preflop (which I prob will complete from the SB). I asked him why he called the shove, he said he had 14 outs (???wtf miscounted) for 56% to hit if the villian was on a flush draw.

For the rest of the night my friend kept flopping weird lock hands and crushing the table.

Villain is a moron. Even though this is his first hand u can just tell.

Hero is awesome of course and has 200bb+ on the table

$2/$5 No Limit Hold'em - Fallsview - 10 Handed

50bb eff

Hero is OTB w/KdQd
6 folds, 'Fish Cake' calls 1bb, Hero raises to 5bb, 2 folds, Villain calls 4bb

Flop: Qh6d9d
11.5bb - 2 Players - Villain bets 10bb, Hero raises to 45bb+, Villain (snap) calls 35bb

Turn: Ks
101.5bb - 2 Players

River: 8h
101.5bb - 2 Players - Villain shows Tc7d for a T high straight, Hero mucks

'Fish Cake' wins 101.5bb (+51.5bb) after he 'snap' calls 35bb with a gutshot (w/3 outs.) Welcome to 'live' poker lol.

Was only able to play a short session at Foxwoods last saturday. Personally didn't have any interesting hands but this one I witnessed was worthy of this thread.

Youngish twentysomething with about 180 behind makes it 15 to go in early position. All fold to old guy with 600 behind who calls. He's been away from the table about a half hour. Been back for four hands and has played all of them.

Two to the flop.

J 3 2 rainbow. Ep leads out for 20. Lp calls.

8 turn. Ep checks old guy bets 25 into ~70 pot. Ep then raises to 65. Old guy insta calls.

5 on river. Ep bet 60 old guy ships. Ep calls and his jj loses to A4o.

Ugly all around.

I was inspired by this thread to post the following hand, so instead of derailing the thread, into OMGWTFBBQ it goes.

Table is 6 handed, I have 220BB, my nemesis is sitting on my left and has me covered. I straddle UTG. Nemesis double straddles because he likes raising me every chance he gets, even before we have cards.

Nemesis announces this is his last hand and asks if I want to play the hand blind. I say sure. Its understood either can look at anytime, but the challenge is to not look as long as possible. He knows my unspoken rule is not to look unless someone raises me.

We cap our cards and luckily it folds to us (not a huge coincidence, as this pot was getting 3bet at least if anyone dipped their toe in). I raise to 12bb, nemesis calls.

Flop (pot is 23bb): AQ7 rainbow

I bet 16bb, nemesis snap calls.

Turn (pot is 55bb): AQ78

I bet 30bb. Nemesis says he has to look at his cards now. I grin. He peeks and quickly says "I'm all in".

"Man, now you made me look," I say as I peel back my cards. I have AQ. I super-duper-snap call his shove and turn up my cards.

"Oh ****!" he yells and shows me A8 for the wafflecrushed two pair.

River (pot is 440bb): AQ788

Good times. Good times.

I'm playing 1/2 NLHE. I'm sitting in the 9 seat, there's a younger dude sitting in the 10. We're shooting the **** during the game, he seems like a good guy. Anyways, I raise it up somewhere in LP and he calls, along with one of the blinds, another young guy who's been on a heater. Flop had two face cards, both diamonds; and a rag. Turn, another diamond face card. By this time I've folded to some action because I whiffed and am only half paying attention, with my other half attention on the Lakers-Thunder game, and another half on the cocktail waitress's boobs. Dude in the 10 seat is putting in some bets along the way, and puts in a good sized river bet, which folds out the other guy. 10 seat flips over the rest of a Royal Flush in diamonds and says something along the lines of it being his first one, blah, blah, blah. Not realizing that had he checked it down to s/d he would've won a $350 Royal Flush bonus. Dealer just looks at him and says "damn dude you just threw away $350," while the rest of the table is going nuts. For the next 10 minutes or so the guy's hands were shaking really bad. Tough break, he looked like a college kid who could've probably bought a lot of Beast Ice and weed with that money.

tl;dr:
Dude makes Royal Frush and decides valuetowning with his 80 dollar stack is better than winning a jackpot worth 4.5 times that amount.

Kurt that's a legit beat, even if you were playing 1 penny 2 penny. I hope the stakes were not significantly higher.

Continuing my live blogging I just got bluffed off a big (200+bb) pot with A5hh on a 46788dddd board. Villain triumphantly flashes me AKss.

This is not a personal bad beat story, but I witnessed a sick hand last night (probably one of the sicker beats I've seen - especially considering what showed up and pot sized). Grave yard shift. BB and UTG are both very aggressive. BB loves to talk and thinks he's the best. UTG is a dealer and quiet. Everyone except two fish are playing 1k+ deep.

2-5 NL (7 handed)

UTG (~1600) raises 25
5 Folds
BB (~2500) raises to 100
UTG calls 75

Flop (202)
Ks 7h 2s

BB bets 80
UTG raises 220
BB raises 520
UTG raises ~1600 (all-in)
BB Snap calls

Turn (~3202)
3s

River
8s

BB shows KK (set of kings)
UTG shows QQs (king high flush)

BB goes nuts and starts yelling at UTG. Almost gets kicked out. UTG plays 1 more orbit and leaves. I sit there smiling since I find this to be both comical and sick at the same time.

Just finished a session at HG. Decided to try the baby tables so this is 1/2 40max.

I'm MP with KQs. Limps to me, I make it 4bb to go. Tighties are ultra tight so this is the bet to iso the donators. Everyone is passive. 3 to a flop of QAxr. Check, I bet 4 more LP moves in for like 12bb. Fold. I see him look at the flop again while I'm thinking. He might have a queen but my read is an ace.

I literally think, "he's one of the biggest donators at this table. Let's make a bad call here." Wtf, he'll just give it back anyways.

I call and flip. He shows AT. Cool, I was right on my read.

Turn comes T. He's reaching for the pot while we all laugh.

River Q. Somewhere a kitten dies.

He leaves the table and comes back 5 minutes later and I buy him a shot.

Live 2/3 NL last night...

Nemisis from the night has just lost two biggish pots to me from me checking an ace on an ace high board and winning a 150BB pot, and another 60BB one from check/calling to victory with second pair vs a busted pair draw.

So I have teh AK of clubs and make it standard 5BB in this game. Shortstack shoves for around 20BB. He flat calls out of the small blind for around 50% of his stack. I shove, he whinges about betting into a dry sidepot, and calls. There is the tournament rule in effect where all cards are flipped at the end of the action... I flip first with AKcc, the shortstack flips 22, and the other guy fistpumps turns over 47o, because he is drawing live and is actually a favourite because of all the straight draws he can make.....

Flop K33 and I make the mistake of accidently mini-fistpumping. Turn 2 and I miss four outs to scoop... He bags me oout for sucking out (Mr 47o) then leaves...

Just want to make a post in the new forum, so here it is.

Saturday night, 2/3 NL, not feeling well, should be home in bed, but my mate said he was going in, so I thought why not. I'm bored, not really wanting to play, too focused on my stomach pains. It folds to me on the button, I blind raise to 10 hoping to steal the blinds (they don't know I raised blind). Mate in SB folds, BB calls.

Raggy flop, 843r or something. BB leads out for 10, I blind-min-raise to 20 hoping to take it down there. BB shoves 100, I have him covered. Great, look what I got myself into here! I tell him I haven't looked yet, as I peak down at AA. I tell him I have to call and I table my cards. He rolls his eyes and also tables AA. We split my mate's $2 SB.

This is an old hand but I thought i would show off some terrible play.

I'm in the SB with AQ. My table is a gold mine but i havent hit a flop in about 7 hours. I'm on tilt. I'm in for 2.5 BI's and i should've left hours ago. But the one guy with all the money is so god awful its only a matter of time before i finally connect, double through him etc.

I have about 140BBs, Fish Villain has about 300BB, Euro-Villain has about 90BB.

1 limper, folds to fish makes it 4BB, euro-villain flats on the button, I opt to squeeze since fish villain is incompetent who is raising super wide, my only concern is Euro-Villain who flats on the button. Euro villain is aggro enough that he would have 3-bet AK a good portion of the time and 100% 3bet KK/AA (flatting with Kings and Aces is not in his repertoire) So i decide to squeeze - ive been player super tight as i'm running super cold, i figure if i raise enough i can get take the pot right there a good portion of the time, or take the pot w/ a C-bet a good portion of the time.

So back to play:
Fish raises 4BB, V2 flats, i squeeze to 18BBs, fish flats, villain flats again.

Flop: (56BB)
7c 9c As

I lead 50BB, i also have Qc but not Ac, fish flats, V2 shoves, i shove, fish folds.

i assumed v2 was good enough to realize that he's losing money calling 90 bucks while getting less than 8:1 IO's but looks like i was wrong.
