Hello everyone, I'm new to 2+2. Anyways here's a hand from yesterday $1/$2nl

5 Handed

hero $112 effective
villian $1,000 effective

2 limps in MP hero limps CO with 79
Bttn folds Villian in BB makes it $12

everyone calls

Pot:$48

flop 6Q8

Villian bets $25 , MP calls, MP2 folds

Pot:$98

Hero Shoves remaing $100

I'm just curious if the super wizards agree if this is the right play or if im making a mistake by shoving here.

You should probably fold both times preflop. On the flop I just shove.

You don't have enough money to play this hand in a raised pot. Def fold.

Fold is also good when its limped to you.

Shove flop is fine.

I know it’s no fun but this is live 1/2. They’re going to rake like 3 big blinds. So you shouldn’t be playing bingo poker unless maybe you have a baby pocket pair (where you’ll almost always know if you want to pile cash in postflop or not).

AP shoving is totally fine. This is probably +EV even if your fold equity is literally 0%.

Also top up. Playing this hand becomes worse the more shallow your stack is.

Effective Stack. A term used to refer to the actual amount of chips being played for between two opponents with unequal stacks. For example, if one player has 10,000 chips and another only 5,500 chips, the most either player can win from the other in the hand is 5,500.

Fold pre. You do not have the implied odds to draw. I’m guessing you’re quite new to poker, which is fine. I’d recommend you sign up for a training site or read an introductory book. You’ll learn a lot of concepts that you could’ve applied here to make better decisions, which is what poker is about; making the best decisions.
