In general, how aggressively should you play OE draws on flush draw boards? Here’s an example hand, but I’m interested in general thoughts. I grew up on limit Hold’em and the adage that you should be very careful drawing to straights on flush draw boards.

Welcome to the forum, OP. Please don't include results in you HHs, as they bias people's responses. I edited them out.

Of course, you have fewer outs when the FD is out there, as you can often hit your straight and still be toast. This is true not only of the cards that hit both (2h and 7h in this case), but also in terms of hitting a clean out and then V hitting a redraw. Still, we're getting such a nice price on the flop that I'd go ahead and call. Raising is overplaying, given how many have to act after us.

AP, turn is likely a raise, closing the action, thoguh this is V dependent. It would normally be a c/f, imo, but the bet size has "I'm trying to buy an orphaned pot" written all over it. It's pretty much never a call, imo. We are paying 20% of the pot, which is too much to pay for even 8 clean outs without much in IOs, and our outs are far from clean. As well as the possibility of hitting his flush with two of them, the other 7s could give 69 a higher straight. While 69 is a crap hand, the raise pre was small and lots of LLSNL players like to play it (especially suited in hearts) for the "comedy" value. Not a huge chance of this, esp with us blocking the 6, but just a little more RIOs for us to worry about.

Not going to comment on river, partially as I saw results, and partially as it would really really depend on V and you didn't tell us anything about him/her.

A min raise with all the calls if I'm going to play this hand I'd rather 3 bet. Honestly I probably just fold it pf I don't 3bet here. 5/6 ways or whatever it is you're just going to get overflushed a lot and it's just going to be hard to win more than you end up losing either chasing a draw or getting coolered. You don't even have the button so can easily get squeezed as well.

By 3betting you increase your odds greatly of winning the pot, but also usually you can get it HU in which all your draws have way more equity.

As played w/ the FD and higher straight draws possible when you hit your 7 your odds are kind of slim. Like the only truly good card for you is a non heart deuce. Which does have value because you will get tons of value when you do hit, because this will be considered a brick.

That said I think the best way to play is to CR the turn to about 200 and then bet big on a lot of rivers. Your draw is not that great that you hate getting shoved on here on the turn. And raising gives you the best opportunity to win the hand on the turn or river.

Either that or just fold the turn. Calling is pretty bad.
