Playing live 1/2. I have run my $300 up to about $835. UTG has $45. UTG +1 (villain) has $565.

UTG:raise to $15. I'm on button with Q/10. Villain calls. Hero calls. Blinds fold.

FLOP: 4spades 9 clubs J diamonds.

UTG: all in for $30. Villain calls. Hero calls.

TURN: K diamonds

UTG: (all in already) Villain bets $40. Hero raises to $95. Villain raises to $160. Hero shoves (I know it is a bad play, but I figured we were getting there anyway!). Villain calls with statement that "I guess we chop with same hand!"

RIVER: 3 diamonds

Hero wins 1194 dollar pot.

Question: If you are villain, are you calling any bet there? Even a gross overshove like I made? You know what your hand is and that it is NOT going to improve. What kind of odds do you need to fold? call? I guess the only real nightmare hand I could have had from his perspective was the Q/10 of diamonds for the royal re-draw.

4b turn shove is the nuts 100% of the time so I would fold everything but the nuts. I would never 3b turn if I wasn't planning on getting it in though. I'm guessing V must've had KJ if he thought you were chopping and lost the hand. Congrats on finding a nice whale. Don't like your turn sizing, would go at least $115.

Not sure what the question here is, but if the question is "would you call if someone shoved $600 into a pot of $500 and you had the nut straight with no redraws" the answer is yes, yes I would.

OK. Thanks. I guess I am one of those guys who is constantly seeing the monster in the closet. I would like to think that I would have at least considered the potential of losing the hand. He has the nut straight. I think he reads me for the same, but if he thought that I had a set/two pair obviously his call is the right move.

Appreciate the responses.

Nut straight freeroll situations are only really relevant in hold'em when there's a 1 liner to Broadway on the turn or when someone shoves for 5x pot.
