1/1/2 Oaks Emeryville

Been about an hour - my stack is about 350 from 200.

5 limps to me in BB. I make it 25 with AQo, 2 limpers fold, middle aged new guy (first hand) repops it to 90 (with about 60 behind). Other 2 limpers fold.

Hero? Villains seems relaxed, and this is usually always AA/KK from OMC types, and often AA/KK from everyone else, but the first hand limp/rr made me pause.

Hero is MAWG FWIW.

There's 125 in the pot. With only 60 behind, you're either shoving or folding. He's never going to fold getting over 4:1. Therefore, you need to be ahead at least 42% of the time. That implies a l/rr range of 88+, AJs, AQo, KQs. That seems too wide for an unknown MAWG. Easy fold.

The good news is that if he is wider than that, he's going to show you his bluff and play like a maniac going forward.

I usually go big from the blinds as well with a hand like AQoff preflop. But I think $25 is a little too big. Probably $20 would be my norm.

As played, I think it’s an easy fold.

Very strange play. His limping after a couple of other limpers with no reason to expect a raise is unusual. Then he raises big while leaving himself with a short stack behind. Given this play I would expect villain to be a terrible player but it isn't clear what kind of terrible yet. Without any other information on villain I would fold. Villain will turn up with more AA-QQ then he should.

Yeah usually I'd install muck here, but the fact he did it in mid position and was brand new gave me pause for thought. I thought about 30 secs and mucked. He didn't show.

All-in and feeling good about it. Overlimp/rr is not credible at all.
