I am in the hijack. Blinds $2 (on BTN), $3, and $5. I am in HJ. Full 10-handed game. I've got $1200 in my stack.

UTG+1 opens to $25, UTG+2 flats. I squeeze my cards and see As4s and choose to flat. Villain on button (big fish, kind of aggro, $900 in stack) flats., SB folds, BB flats. $122 in pot after rake.

Flop Js 7s 5h

Action is checked to me, I check, villain on BTN bets $60. Everyone else folds, I call. $242 in pot.

Turn 7d

I check, villain checks.

River 8s

Is my relative hand strength sufficient to bet? I think so. I have the nut flush; quads and boats beat me, but I crush T9, 96 (yes, this villain can show up here with 96), 7x, and pocket pairs.

Do I need to build a pot? No. It's the final round of betting and the pot is substantial but not huge.

Should I slowplay? I don't think so.

So it seems I should value-bet here. If I check and the villain bets, villain's range is weighted towards hands that crush mine, but there is also a good chance he will value-cut himself. If I bet, though, I will more likely get value from lesser hands, and at the same time I think I can dodge if he comes over the top with something nutted.

How much should I bet?

You are way over thinking this. Just bet an amount you think Jx will call with. $150 seems fine.

I would have bet the flop once the PFR and player after him checked.

Preflop can definitely be a 3bet or fold but if you have deep effective stacks who are also passive preflop i dont mind a call.

Must bet on river. Its hard to have to many bluffs but who cares. Id bet half pot hoping to get Jx to call

I’m betting 105 and calling a raise.
