1/2 at Hollywood Casino STL. Full table, Saturday night. Table is not too tight, but not too aggressive.

Hero has been at the table for about 1 hour. Hero is an MAWG. Hero is perceived as a TAG, but in reality, Hero has been card dead for the 1st hour. Only has played a few hands, lost one good sized pot with AK.....flop was A83 rainbow and Hero ran into a flopped set of 3s. Hero lost $100, and topped back up to the $300 max. So Hero has $300.

V is an older white guy. Nothing fancy. Nothing else on the guy. V has a similar stack to Hero.

Hero is in the SB, and V is in middle position.
4 limps, including V. Hero completes with KQ. I didn't raise, since I would probably get a few callers and I don't want to play this hand OOP in a bloated pot. BB checks, 6 to the flop.

Flop - A85

Checked to V, who bets $10, only Hero calls. $30 in the pot.

Turn - 8, pairing the board.

Hero checks, V bets $10 again, Hero calls. $50 in the pot.

River is the T, giving Hero the nut flush.

Hero leads for $30. V raises to $100. What should Hero do?

You should iso this hand from sb it's too good not to and you want to think the field and even if it doesn't thin the field this hand plays v well.

ap I am calling and getting shown worse flushes and bluffs more than boats and quads

lol @ his 20% of pot bet on the turn... these guys are so bad I just laugh to myself at some of the things I see them doing

I prefer to iso against this table as described.

AP: sigh call. He has plenty of 87/98 and Ax that you beat and way more of these than boats. So at 5-2 it’s the right price for a call.

He isn't raising Ax and prob isn't raising 8x.
He is raising boats, some flushes and air

If you're not comfortable playing KQs from the SB then just fold and wait for JJ+.

Spoiler:

Yes, I should raise this hand preflop. I need to get comfortable doing that.

Results:
Folding getting about 2.5 to 1 is out of the question. The only question I had was....would anyone raise here? Nothing here on the flop and the turn lead me to believe that V had a full house. V made a very weak turn bet.

I called the $70, V showed 55 for a boat. I mucked face up and told him that he should have won a lot more on that hand. Not sure why he just bet $10 on the turn when he made a boat. And ace or a flush draw isn't going to call $10 but fold to a $30 bet. V needs to make it at least $25. If V makes it $30, the pot would have $90. I would have bet something like $60-65 after making my flush, and V could have raised to $200 and got most, if not all of my stack.

Don't tell your opponents how you think they should have played.

Why are you engaging with V like that after the hand at all? Do you want him to play better? Just smile, muck your cards face down and say well played.

Edit: Damn, TWO homies beat me to it!

To be clear, I didn't tell him why....I just said that I thought he should have won more on this hand. Maybe that's too much, but oh well, I can just muck quietly next time.
