Treasury casino, Brisbane Australia.

1/3NL 10% to $13 rake (lol)

Table opened at 6pm, it's now about 730. Max buy is 200, most of the table started with 100-150. Very lol-passive with not too much gnarly pre flop action. Table is filled with passive recreational players, seeing flops with a wide range. Friendly table, good vibes and chatter - of which I've been a part of.

Hero: CO $440, covers table. Mid-20's Caucasian, most active at table. Won most of my chips without showdown, isolating pre and taking down pots without resistance post. One showdown I stacked a player with 66 on KK6, limped pot. Flatted ep lead, raised turn, was flatted in a "ahh I has King what's going on" manner. Opponent c/called shove on river with naked trips.

Villains:

UTG $110 (villain in question): Indian-Australian middle aged female. Have seen her overplay one pair type hands, and overvalue ATo in one spot on an ace-high board. Hasn't opened too much pre - as with most of the table, had opted to limp mostly. Most active aside from myself, but definitely not loose.

BTN: friendly late-20's Islander male. Shorter stacked, not getting out of line, but still new to table.

SB: similar physiological description to UTG, though slightly less active. Also short.

BB: older Asian male, super tight passive post, has been speculating a bit pre.

Dynamic: very friendly table, real social 'fun' vibe the rec players are enjoying. I have been played back at recently and think some of them are beginning to want to 'take a stand' (but more in a call-me-down type manner, though still early)

Hand:

UTG opens for $10, which is rare. Folds to me in CO w/AQo. I ask to see how much behind. I'm giving her a pretty snug range - 99+ ATs+ AJo+

Hero flats 10 after debating small 3b/fold, but deciding against that due to how shallow eff stacks are.

Btn, SB, BB flat.

Flop ($50)

A26ddx

C, c, UTG leads for 50 by stomping a stack in front of her. I tank flat, but accidentally put out a stack of 75, before pulling back 25 which is not questioned, though obv construed as me intending to put her in.

Btn tank folds, SB and BB fold.

UTG and I both put the extra 50 in blind.

Board runs out clean and I lose to AK

I'm used to playing 100bb minimum, and at my most comfortable around the 200bb eff range.

Since I'm unfamiliar with this spot, can anyone shed any light on the correct preflop play here? Obv post flop I can't fold, but I was genuinely lost pre and just called because I felt open folding was far too nitty. I also didn't expect it to go multiple ways either.

Is a small 3b/fold line better, or against this type of lineup should I just be folding?

Could be standard, but this isn't a spot I'm at all familiar with

cooler but maybe raise preflop and you have better idea where your at and can maybe save yourself 70 or 80 bucks

I hate just chalking stuff up to 'coolers', though as played, I think post is just that.

If I 3! pre, she ships her monsters, which is obv a fold, but by flatting I guess she still stacks off on that kinda board with AT-AJ... Gahhhh they always seem to have AK in this spot, but I just don't know if AQ should be a fold in position against an admittedly narrow opening range.

Did she raise pre with the A10o?

If not this might be a fold preflop.

Also, no wonder its called Treasury casino with a 13 dollar rake...

She flatted in late pos with the AT. I hadn't seen her open in ep yet

If she's very passive pre and knows what UTG means then it's a fold pre imo... As played u think once u make it to the flop it's pretty close EV

Wow, that is one gross rake. I would guess (?) that this game is close to unbeatable thanks to the ******ed rake and the small maximum BI.

I think this is a pretty easy fold preflop. When a snug player opens in EP, which will put their short stack at risk, I mean even AJ/99 is probably not even hands to consider here.
