Never fold KK? Never fold KK?

1-2

V1 (ca. 230) Playing about 40 percent of his hands. I’ve played with him before, and my impression is that he’s not too bright. He shrugs when he calls with a drawing hand, and puts in his chips confidently when he has a made hand. I was just in a hand with him earlier where I had 9cJc on the button and he called me preflop in the sb, called me on the flop 9h4c7c, called me again on the turn 2h, folded to my bet on the river Kc, and then turns up 5c6c, showing that he folded his lower made flush.

V2 (75) Calling station also playing 40 percent of his hands. His stack dwindles and then he rebuys because he’s calling bets like J7 on a JQK flop. Doesn’t speak English. He’s speaking a pigeon French with his buddy who is also bleeding money.

Hero (290) Playing tight aggressive. V1 and V2 aren't paying attention.

V1 bets 6 OTG (standard raise at the table has been 12), OTG+2 calls, folds to Hero with KK in the HJ who raises to 25, V2 calls in the CO, folds to V1 who raises to 80, folds to Hero. Pot is 145. V1 moved his chips in quickly and is now staring at the Hero. V2 has 50 behind, and Hero is fairly certain V2 will call any raise Hero makes, which would make the pot 195. V1 has ca. 150 behind. Hero covers. Hero?

Somebody who you define as ‘not too bright’ folded a weaker flush? Reassess your read.

As for the hand, you have a physical tell so use it.

Indeed I have a pretty good read. So fold KK? I had been telling my poker friends for years that I will never fold KK preflop. KK meets AA one out of twenty times. In a KK vs suspected AA situation, I have to be confident at least 19 times out of 20 that my read is correct. Keep in mind that there is already 194 dead money in the pot. If my read is correct 90 percent of the time, it's a losing play. There are enough threads on folding KK preflop in a cash game that we don't need to discuss it here. In a tournament on the bubble is a different story.

In the earlier hand of V1, why call the turn with a straight draw / flush draw without the pot odds if you are going to fold to what you suspect is a higher flush on the river?

In general, I'm never folding KK preflop for 100 - 150 BB. We have to be super deep with very player specific reads to get me to consider folding KK PF

Player dependent.

If I think he'll call off JJ/QQ/AK 100% of the time or close to it, then I rip. My PF shoving range would appear to be balanced enough that most of the players I play with are going to be calling AQ+ and TT+ against me.

I also would be willing to flat for range purposes and to let him spaz out on non Ace high boards. The stack to pot ratio will be close to 1:1, so you should be willing to stack off on most flops anyways

We are 115BB effective, right? It's a fist pump jam, I think and even given reads that a $6 open is "the nuts", it's still a jam.
