Live 1-2 with a 5straddle
4 seat pumps to 15 I call on button with 78s, straddle calls 3 to flop.
Flop 7 9 10 two suited.
Straddle leads for 50, seat 4 calls and I push for 205 on top.
Straddle folds and 4 seat tanks, eventually calls with 6 10 no flush draw.
River pairs my 8 giving him the straight.

Was my push fully transparent of my draw?
What do you think of his call after, player is a very strong player and regularly makes GREAT calls. Thanks for your help.

Stack size of 4 seat? Was he sitting deep with like $800 or just barely covered you.
Was this a 10 handed table?
Did you flop a FD or BDFD?

Happy to offer advice but would like more info 1st.

He had me covered but not super deep maybe $550. Full table, no fd or bdfd.
I am just baffled by his call, but maybe I am missing something.
Also, I am very tight and have made no moves at all in session at this point. Played very ABC up to this point but solid none the less.

I mean well, but why on earth are you running a bluff like this at 1/2?

I guess Villain could think you have 2pair or a set, but why risk it? You do not have much $ involved at this point and he just led out for a larger than PSB. Fold and pick a better spot.

Your pair and straight draw isn't even that strong. If you make your straight there will be 4 cards to it on the board and usually people notice and tighten up.

Villain made a very loose call, but the issue was you bluffing to begin with.

What position is seat 4?

Generally, I would prefer a 3bet with 78s but calling can be ok. Really we should be 3bet of folding against preflop raises more than flat calling (even though the opposite is what you'll regularly see at 1/2 NL). It also depends on Villain and your present image at the table, but if you are viewed as ABC to this point 78s would often be good as a semi-bluff 3bet pre.

I don't think your flop raise is "transparent." I do think that when a Player donk leads a Potsized bet into two players who likely have ranges that smash this flop and next to act calls that large bet with a player behind, it is very optimistic to think you can shove for 200 more and expect to be moving these players off their hands.

Villian's call is probably pretty close but I'd imagine it is the correct play. He will often be behind vs your range but he is getting close to 2/1 pot odds, there are plenty of semibluffs you could have, and with TP+a gutter it can't be that bad to pay it off.

you need to work on your assessment of V's

$15 raise with 10 6 = strong player???????????
this is fundamentally flawed

#1 rule. fish want to call ; fish don't look for reasons to fold
they look for any reason to call
Value bet the fish ; don't try to bluff them off hands

I don't hate your play. Flop donk from straddle is often indicative of a weak value hand. On such a draw heavy board and multiway I'd expect pfr to raise most strong value hands. You are always going to shove your 2pair+ on this board and you have lots of value combos. The problem is there are lots of draws villains can put you on, and people don't like to fold. You need to be careful what hands you select to bluff, because if you shove all semi-bluffs you are bluffing way too much & there are better hands to semi bluff with than this.

No, I don't think it's transparent. Most players would jam with a set, 2pair or even a straight when there is such a draw heavy board and so much money already in the pot.

I think your shove is a little light, with the strength/willingness to put money in shown thus far by Vs and the weakness of your hand. If they had made weaker bets on the flop, it might be more worth a try. But you have the button so you can always call and play the next street IP.

I'd guess that the call is a bit of a loser. Much of the time, his gutshot will be his only outs. His poor preflop selection helped create this situation, of having a hand with poor value post.

Thanks for the replies, I knew it was possible one of two V’s may show up with a hand; however, I definitely did not expect to be called as light as I was.
Regarding position 4 not being a good player because he raised light one time. One time getting “caught” out of line does not make him a poor player in my eye. I later saw him make two other very well thought out calls in very tough positions and have the ranges almost perfectly identified. Yes a 10 6raise is out of line, but his raises had been well respected up to that point. Yeah his hand floored me, but if he in fact read my play; more power to him for his post flop ability. Hence my question, was it really that obvious.
Again, thanks for some great feed-back.

Um yeah, if he is donking $15 or $20, not $50, especially into two players.

Leading more than than a PSB looks a lot like a strong value hand wanting some protection on a wet board.

He didn’t really call you light: he had toppest pair. That’s hard to beat.
