My first light 3b pre oop river bluff? My first light 3b pre oop river bluff?

£1-£2
Effective stacks £300

Reads... V aggressive isolates about 30% hands against limpers, v lost a big pot half hour ago getting £400 ai Pre against AA said he had qq. Could be an Internet kid. He had about £600 stack talkative guy 30yo sitting 2 to my right.

Heros image
Played a few hands won without showdown last hand I won I got 3 streets of value aq on a AA2 flop.

2 limpers
V raises to 12 on button
Hero 3b to 40 A10hh
Ok this is my first light 3b live he's been raising all over the place and thought this would be ideal i think my bet sizing is ok i made it a bit larger as im opp everyone folds
V starts saying "here we go then here we go!" And calls.

Pot £85
Flop3h6hjc
Hero cks
V cks

My plan on this flop was to ck raise ai I was pretty sure that v was going to bet as I showed weakness unfortunately he never. If I was playing against my normal opponents at £1-£2 I would def cb.

Pot £85
Turn 6d
Hero bets £55
V calls

V showed no interest on the flop I had outs I thought I would try take this one down right now. If I had AA I would of played it the same way against v.

When v just calls I don't put him on a 6 as I'm sure he would of raised so now he's got some kind of weak made hand like a small or medium pair he could have a str8 draw or a flush draw but the flush is unlikely as I have two hearts.

Pot £195
River kd
Hero bets £90

Ok so now I have no way to win this pot it's either ck and lose or one last blast to try and take it down and I decide the k is a good card to barrel it should get most of his pocket pairs to fold and any draws he had.

Is the river barrel profitable?

Checking the flop makes no sense here. It looks more like a trap than weakness to me, considering 1.) You have no history of 3-betting light 2.) You can get stacks in with 2 bets, so you can afford to miss a street 3.) This board texture is as non-threatening as they come. If you're trying to induce aggression to get it in OTF I think a small donkish looking cbet works better (35-40).

Don't like the flop check. I'm leading here for $60. As played I don't think you bet enough on the river to get him to fold. He could have a jack here or floated with ak and got there. He also may decide to look you up with any pair like 1010 or 99 because he's getting a good price on river. He also could be slow playing a 6. Thinking he would always raise a 6 on the turn is bad thinking IMO as he could easily be trapping you.

I'm also not a huge fan of raising preflop because you have a few limpers behind and even if you flop an ace you could be behind. It's not horrible but just not something I would do. I think when you do it though you def need to be cbetting every flop

When you 3bet light, especially with a tight image, you just pretend you have AA in your hand.

What would AA do on the flop? Bet.
What would AA do on the turn? Bet.
What would AA do on the river? Shove. I could possibly give up here if he still is on board. You would make a soul read and it obviously would depend on the board runout.

You don't 3bet light to play passively post flop and checking the flop is super passive and reeks of AK.

Bet the flop. $60-65.

As played, Kd is a good card to bluff the river, as villain has a lot of mid PPs in his range, and the K hits a lot of your 3b range that he was previously beating on the turn, and it doesn't improve much of his range. I don't mind the sizing, as long as Villain is somewhat competent. 90 accomplishes the same thing as 130 or 150 here, in my opinion.

Bet flop for sure...as played bet a bit bigger on river as the K is a good card to bet. Maybe 125-ish though it is obv villain dependent.
