Which MP3 device Which MP3 device

So, since this is for live poker, I don’t know where else to post this. I’m not at all tech savvy and have never owned an MP3 player (and I’m in my 40s). For those of you who listen to music while you play, which device do you recommend? I prefer not to use my phone as it drains the pathetic battery.

I'd recommend not using earphone devices at all while at the table.

Sometimes I like to listen to classical music.

Look up Sandisk MP3 players, but prepare to be disappointed. Standalone MP3 players have largely stopped progressing sometime around late 2007 (right around the time iPhone came out and smartphones took off)

So you'll be stuck with 8GB memory and a battery life almost as ****ty as your phone.

So are most people listening to music on their iPhones then?

Ya either an iPhone or you can get a standalone iPod which is a music player without the phone part

Experience has taught me that if you are thinking of using headphones, then it is usually a sign of a bad table (tight, quiet, and generally less profitable)

AKA time to look for a better table

Also, when multi-tabling online, music makes sense because you typically have a standard strategy. BUT, some of the benefits of live poker is the ability to see your opponents, watch their actions, promote a fun atmosphere, and make exploits to fishy play.

invest in a smart phone, you'll have a better phone (can install the Bravo app to see where all the good games are running) and have music. It doesn't drain the battery that much (much less than streaming music).

I have a smart phone but the battery is horrible. And the casino I play at half of the jacks to recharge the phone don’t work

You need to disable the apps that sre draining your battery (you can install Gsam battery) and turn off wifi, location and bluetooth while you play.

It 100% doesn't matter what device you play music on. What matters is that you use only one earbud, or get bone conducting headphones that don't cover your ears.

This forum is for poker strategy, and this isn't really a strategy question, so I'm going to lock it up. If you want to discuss this in the Chat Thread, feel free.
