1-2 NL
Table has been open for about an 90 minutes. Lots of limpers PF. Standard raise has been 3- 5 BB's.
Villain - I switched seats when I saw him coming to open up the table so I would be to his right. We've played a bunch of hours together and I know he likes to raise a lot PF. I Don't recall any big hands we have been in against each other. I would say his preflop raising range (from the button) is any A, j-9 suited and higher, JQ off and higher. stack is about $90
Hero - Been waiting for a decent hand to reraise PF against villain. Haven't been involved in many hands yet (card dead) 2 people mentioned they didn't see me play a hand after the first 3 revolutions so I could be seen as tight... but against villain, he knows I can play loose pre flop and TAG post flop. Also know I am capable of a decent bluff. stack covers villain
Hero in the big blind with 8s 8c.
Limps around villain (on the button) who raises to $10.
Hero raises to $45.
Villain takes a standard amount of time and calls.
Flop comes
4c 6c 10c
Hero checks
Villain shoves for $45.
hero...?
I think villain raises Qs Ks or As. Isn't one to overbet, he typically bets way to low (against pot) and lets people draw cheap.

I question your reason for wanting to be to his right.
As played, meh, I call. Deeper, I just wait for another spot, but for a half PSB all in, I call.

call... consider shoving pre since he's probably bad enough to call with whatever

Why are you raising to $45 preflop? You're OOP and you have a hand that isn't going to like most flops. Checking is terribad, you basically just admitted you 3-betted super light and gives him the green light to shove on you. You only have a bluff catcher and its obvious that you were wrong and that he had JJ+ (I'm guessing JJ Or QQ). Calling isn't bad I guess, I mean you checking let him do this with 2 unpaired broadways, but there isn't much of a discussion, either you were right or wrong.
You should have shoved on the flop (considering effective stacks are less 25BB on the flop). And this is as good of a flop as you're going to get with 88 most times.

Surprising that you didnt shove flop honestly. This is one of those prime spots where you need to force your opponent on a decision...with the little extra value of him calling you lighter than normal cause of his miniscule stack size. Plus, u have the 8c for back-up. I dont like shoving pre as i dont think he calls a 9X 3-bet with worse. I dont mind a 3bet, but 30 is better than 45. C/f is easier post if the flop is gross.

I guess I didn't have a plan for the flop. I would have loved this flop if it wasn't monotone. Am I wrong thinking that his shove is at best Ac? In.the situation it seemed like a difficult call I obviously wanted a similar flop that wasn't all one suit. I do think this villain shoves Qs Ka As and possibly Js. He's not afraid to get it all in pre or post.

Not having a plan for the flop when you 3-bet pre is kinda spew. Something to def work on in my opinion. Not too happy with it but a call seems to be in order. He can be shoving any good club or an overpair without a club...both of which we're getting the correct price to call. (I believe)

I'm trying to decide whether or not this is spewy to call. I called his shove and he had AK no club. Didn't know if that was.the proper call though. I had a few interesting hands I will post from todays session. Thanks
