Hero(300)
V(68)-Asian guy.. loose.. splashy ..short stack.. saw him shove previously with middle pair+ SD (don't think it was an OB though)
other V's have roughly 150-200 ish

L/P 1/2 game... 3 limps in front of me

I have JQ OTB ; I raise to 16, how is this sizing look? do you ever opt to over limp here?

only V calls from MP after limping

HU to flop : KQ5 ; (34)

He open shoves for 52... Hero?

I'm getting 1.6 to 1.. need roughly 38% to call.. I unblock hearts...he is calling pf very wide

How do we range him/proceed here?

thanks for any feedback

It's a shrug call or a shrug fold -- based on however you feel at the moment and any vibe you get from V at the table.

Range:
Any 2 hearts
TJ
Any King
Any Queen
Possibly some random pocket pair

I would call.

Easy call. You've got to be at least 50% against his range right now.

I ran numbers through F-zilla , I have 42% best case scenario giving him some weak Q's like Q5s and Q8os , 55 is in his range for sure

its very marginal so I don't think it's an easy call, but not sure if I ranged him correctly bc he is pretty unpredictable and it was an overbet so maybe I made the range too wide in which case it would be slightly -EV... 35%

yea if he's shoving this wide then I love my call; just not sure bc of the overbet; short stacks love to just rip it in tho if they have any piece so idk

My general rule of thumb is to never fold to loose players, splashy players, short stacks or Asians. 8xing it with QJ seems a lil lol but it's 1/2 so whatever..it can't be too terrible. QJ sooted is way too good to overlimp the button with.

You definitely have V's range dominated. This is a call. Sometimes V will show up with a K and you just have to accept that.

If 55 is in his range, so is 66-JJ? This seems good for you...

How'd you range him exactly? Not sure why you're giving him just Q8o and Q5s, either he's the sort of person to limp call Qx above a certain point or not -- most people aren't incongruent in the sense that if they're limp/calling Q8o here, they'll also have Q9 and QT.

I’d limp this pre with so many limpers in the pot already. You’re just going to called when you raise. This hand will make 2nd pair often and put you in tough spots. Not to mention the pot ends up inflated reducing your mobility post flop. How would you have played this hand if it checked to you?

66-JJ are in his pre-flop range for sure; I just feel when he snap shoves for 1.5X psb that these hands aren't really there anymore

Right I meant Q8os as the weakest Q and Q5s as the weakest suited Q, so the stronger ones are in there for sure.. minus the ones that would have raised pre-flop

easy bet HU vs a loose player with a very wide calling range and a short stack, im just bet/calling or going bet/bet to get it all in ; he has so many inferior hands when he checks flop
