In the middle with JJ in a 3way 3bet pot In the middle with JJ in a 3way 3bet pot

1-3 NL

Villain 1 MP middle aged Asian has effective stack 145$ no real reads
Villain 2 SB has about 200 or so seems to be slightly passive not really sure

Hero has about 300 raises 15 with JJ UTG+1

Villain 1 3-bets quickly to 50$ looking strong
Villain 2 cold calls from the SB

POT 150
FLOP: 8h 6h 2d (I have the Jh)

SB checks, I decide to lead into villain 1 for 75, villain 1 shoves remaining 95, and SB calls 95 with around 60 behind.

At this point I know im beat and questioning my decision to lead into the 3better but I call the extra 20$ into the 450 Pot

Turn comes a blank and the SB miraculously checks, river comes a jack and I don't get paid off from the SB who claimed to have QQ because my buddy who saw my hand went "ooooh" when the jack hit

Villain 1 had KK

How would you guys deal with an overpair in this spot? If you give 3bettor TT+/AK and cold caller TT,JJ,AQs,AKo , then im basically flipping with the 3bettor and I might as well be the first one to be aggressive right? Also I did not consider that the cold caller would have any sets in his range because he just seemed so chill and passive not the type of player to cold call 50 from the SB with 22 or 66, maybe 88

I'd actually 4b shove pre this shallow

Preflop is a tough spot. In LLSNL, I very rarely give a 3-bettor credit for TT- in general until they have shown a propensity for preflop aggression. This is accentuated by the fact that we opened UTG+1 and the 3-bet came from MP. Add to that SB cold calling and I think mucking this isn't bad.

I've folded JJ pre to similar/less action before on many occasions.

Flop bet is meh. If we're not folding , I guess it doesn't matter, but I think we can give ourselves an opportunity to fold if MP shoves & SB calls/reshoves, for the same reasons I think we should fold pre.

Sounds nitty but can probably toss this into the muck pre

Flop lead is horrible.

Call is fine ap since you’re calling $20 to win hundreds

Yup. No one 3-bets nearly enough in these games, so these ranges are pretty nutted. You can't give them all combos of AK.

Assuming their 3-bet range was JJ+/AK, you are still behind on this flop a lot. I'd check, and probably fold to a jam, as they are often going to go for the cheap showdown with AK. Leading into him lets him play perfect.

Obviously when it's $20 back to you call. You're getting odds to further setmine.

This shallow we have to decide if we are playing for stacks very early on, for that reason I prefer jamming pre or folding pre (villain dependent)

As played I'm not a fan of the lead, lets villain play too perfectly

I most limp/reraise from anything but LP. However, if I was raising with these shortstacks at the table then I'd target 10% of the shortstacks to setup a trivial commitment decision postflop with an overpair. So if there are a lotta $200 stacks, I'd go $20.

Facing the 3bet, we don't have the odds to just flat to setmine, and really shouldn't be sticking in this percentage of our stack just to see if we like the flop. So I'd either jam or fold preflop. With this amount of dead money and 3betters with this short of a stack not needing the ~nuts to 3bet, I'd lean to shoving preflop.

Really shouldn't be any postflop play in this hand so I'm not really sure what I'd do as played. Much like preflop, I'd either open jam or just check/fold.
