Absolutely correct.

Let me bring up another example hand from a crazy Harrahs game i played this summer in Vegas. I have a young crazy aggro kid to the left of me, and i am playing 450$ stack. My read from having him at the table for 2-3 hours is that he isnt folding anything, he just puts money into the pot like its nothing. He doesent have a fold button _at all_.

I pick up KK and make it 15$, spewy aggrokid makes it 40$ from the button. When its back on me i blast it to 200$ preflop, because i know that he isnt folding. Guy beats me into the pot and instacalls my 4 bet to 200$. Sadly the flop comes 4-2-2 rainbow, if the spewmonkey catches any piece of the flop he gives me the full double up.

My point with bringing up this example is that against certain villains "normal" betsizes goes out the window, at least it should- or else we are costing ourself ****loads of value.

There also should be much better spots to win big pots off this guy by maintaining our stack.
Exactly my sentiments. I figured a coin flip wasn't worth it. Better off folding and living to play another day.

I think you need a bit more Pre ... Not so much as he takes too much notice but enough that he's still interested in playing the hand. Probably less than $30. Just because we are deep doesn't mean we need to play deep right away. He didn't win his stack in one hand. What was the typical 3-bet at this table?

Maniacs love to bet .. Maniacs want to bet .. Challenging them will result in 2 things (re-raise or fold). Although I hate the sizing by Maniac I think I will let him get away with it on the Flop and see if he fires again on the Turn. You may think he will call the raise on the Flop. He may, but you will rarely get another chip out of him unless he improves or just has a huge monster on the Turn.

I can see the urge to raise the Flop. And I can even appreciate the fold, but if you do plan on r/f here then I think you can bet less and still get the same result. Maniacs are much tamer on the Turn when there's only 1 card to go IMO.

1) More Pre
2) Raise Flop less if your plan is r/f .. prefer no raise (let him do the betting, you are IP)
3) Maniacs are more tame on Turn than Flop ... GL

PS .. Totally agree with idea that you will have more opportunities with better equity very soon!!

we do give him a chance to put a lot of money in the pot, and he does. All of it.

pre-flop, this is a disagreement over like, $15. hero probably sized his 3b! like he does with all of his other pre 3b! range.

like another poster said, just because we don't think manic is thinking deep, no need to put our hand face up for him. besides, the manic's open raise to a nickel has to be considered. there was $15 in the pot when hero raised to $21. raising to $40 when there is $15 in the pot really tells a lot about our hand, even to a drunk maniac. and there are also a few other players at the table who could be paying attention to the hand as well...

Lay that sh** down and wait for a better spot... KK is just one pair. He's either got J10, which will give him an open ended straight, or he already has a straight.

Don't give your stack away on this wet of a board.

a $15 sizing difference preflop ends up making a lot of difference when going for three streets of value in a hand.
