H1: bet larger, missing out on value, you are getting snap-called by an A. Somwhere along the $125-140
H2: you have a flush? bet large, you will make a lot more money when you get snapped off by an A then the times that you might win $50 from their two-pairs or 9x.

H1: Maybe 1/3 PSB targeting AX.

H2: With a straight and high-rank cards out there, I'd go $160-$170.

Yes. The way he played it, he never has Ax though. If he bet river, I was shoving. But when he checks, he just never has Ax. He is capped at a lower straight.

They are going to mess with any balance you might be wanting to achieve. I suppose you might set up a dynamic where you can bluff really cheaply against observant opponents but mostly it's going to mess up your river value/bluff range.

If you're doing it in spots where you'd otherwise just check I suppose it's not going to have much impact on your value range on the river - just be exploitable by itself.

That all said I do quite often make quite small bets for thin value when I don't think players are worth balancing against. However, these days I'm trying to size up my river bets both for value, thin value and bluffs so I can fit more bluffs into my range, get more value and be harder to play against.
