low stack on the bubble low stack on the bubble

Home game, small buy-in tourney, NLHE.
5 players remain, 4 places get paid.
My stack is 5900, the short stack at the table.
The BB is 1200, I am UTG with K3off. My table image is tight-ish.
I shoved all-in instead of folding and waiting for the next hand, when I would be the BB and have to put in over 20% of my chips.
Was this a good or bad idea?

I'd say no, but I'm a nit. :-p

In all honesty I would take a better hand - 4BB isn't getting any fold equity IMO, and K3 even against three players doesn't hold well I think.

I don't know how you got to this point but definitely a shove IMO. You'll have to shove this hand or next and this hand is better than avg. If you've been short for a while you want to be shoving before it gets this super short even if the spot is iffy. Even a double up now will probably leave you needing to shove in the next couple rounds

The reason I was low-stacked was that a few hands prior, I got all in preflop against a calling station who had Q8 suited...I had JJ...they flop a Q.
