I've been hinting at it, but it sounds like his modding style is exactly what the WR thread regulars deserve. Am I wrong?

Let me throw open the idea of a thread banishment option and see what y'all think. In this model, we'd mod posters who are otherwise good but who get out of line in that thread by PMing them that they are no longer allowed to post in that thread, and auto deleting any posts they make in the thread thereafter and banning, even if the post was otherwise unobjectionable. My

Thoughts? If this garners support ITT, I'll discuss with the other mods.
Those will probably start acting out in other threads after their BRM ban, which would probably make them candidates for site ban.

So, imo, just use existing ban rules. Temp ban, 3 strikes, gone.

...

Personally, I vote to make RP and AsianNit mods of the BRM thread.

Lol... Most people agree rapini is a terrible mod.

But seriously, almost everything you post is wrong. Why would this be different?

I would put u in charge of the BRM thread as it will hopefully improve your presence here. Even though it is probable that you would become a rAsianNitini.

I want to add that rapini is the prime reason why many avoid forums where he mods.

Thus forum would lose most of the more experienced contributors if that style were used here, even if in just the BRM thread.

RP for mod

LOL...no thanks.

Yep pretty much agree with all of this

You had great players like ATsai and Squid posting stuff in there. Would hate to lose contributions from those guys

This is better than the current solution, imo, so I'm cool with that.

You guys are now creating the Donald Trump Scenario. Asking for something because you aren't happy with the current situation, telling us what you want, but as soon as it's implemented you will all hate it. You do all realize that if we open the thread and hand out thread bans due to behavior that the mods deem counter productive to the thread you are opening it up to our interpretation of counter productive behavior and must abide by our terms. There is no way we could make a master list of what is and isn't acceptable because the scenarios and wording of posts are way to large. We could only give general guidelines and from there the rest is up to us to interpret. Which means we will once again be the aholes of the forum. I'm in for that, and I can tell you now most of you probably won't be able to post itt within a month or two, so make sure that this is really what you want and when you do decide it is what you want remember that when you get banned.

That all said I submitted my proposal to the other mods and I believe it is right in line with what you all are asking for. We'll see what happens.

Perhaps "the banned" can submit their posts to a mod like we currently do. If they care enough to post they'll still do so but the mods will be able to filter them. So freedom until taken away but still possibility to be heard if they actually have something decent to add.

The rule is no trolling in strat threads.

BRM is a strat thread.

If e.g. Zoltan can't keep from trolling, then he gets sent to ban-hammer-stan temporarily.

We have to abide by the decisions in other strat threads anyway.

The mods have been tremendously lenient, and that clearly needed to change, and presumably has changed.

Once banned there would be no turning back. In fact if the thread opens again I don't even want to see a "before I post I want to clear this with you" pm. Everything is still up in the air so instead of elluding to what might be I will not comment further on what new rules there may be.

Just a suggestion.

I guess I'm hoping that people won't get accidentally banned for low content yet Unmalicious posts.

The WR thread has taken on a fairly informal almost Chat thread air about it, which is totally fine with me, so it would be a shame to lose someone just because of one informal-low-content-but-no-harm-meant comment.

We don't need two chat threads. The informal content is the reason why the thread was closed.

The low content thread is a completely useless boy's club thread however whereas the WR thread had useful content interspersed with mindless BS at a ratio of 30/70.

An aggressive banning strategy wouldn't bother me, but AFAIK I am not one of the ones that is likely to get banned.
09-13-2016 , 09:19 AM
Unmodded is definitely the way to go.

Someone who thinks that thread is valuable should go through it and distill the wisdom contained therein into some COTM posts.

Excellent idea. When will u have it done?
09-14-2016 , 09:11 PM
I've never read the WR thread and don't plan on starting.
09-14-2016 , 09:48 PM
Garick and I are drafting a thread agreement up right now. As soon as that is done, and TPTB put it into the thread, the OG WR thread will reopen.

I would pay like $2 a month to have an LC WR thread. Don't know if you guys can do that or not

In light of these new revelations Garick and I are going back to the drawing board.
