Can't quite commit to a room and it's crushing me.

Cancelled my Linq booking, which was super value at 660 all up for 7 nights, but I'm just too much of a Princess to ever stay there.

Changed my V booking for Palazzo, as I want to try somewhere different (even if marginally!), so currently have 7 nights inc tax and resort at Palazzo for 1430 and at Mirage for 1280. At these prices P probably has more value in terms of room quality/size and location (but am open to feedback on this) but feel like a move across the strip may be a more interesting change.

still hoping I might be able to get Wynn/Encore or Aria/Vdara for close to Palazzo price, in which case I'll do that, but closest I can get is $1630

Aren't we just the fancy ones?
Isn't Mirage going through renovation? I feel like that's gotta be a bad move.

Haven't heard that and there's nothing about it on the website. Hmmm

Where are you staying?

You should have joined me at the AIDS Circus.

I can't do it to myself. I look forward to this week so much and the thought of staying in that Aids ridden cess pool would take all of that anticipation away

Have stayed there. Didn't like it.

Wouldn't exactly call it a cess pool, but it was pretty average.

Biggest problems were:

1) Pretty far up the strip. I used a bus pass that trip (cheap and the bus system is good). Pretty sure we won't see Feely on public transportation, unless we all chip in for some kind of prop bet.

2) My room seemed like it was as far from the entrance to the place as Circus Circus was from, say, Caesars.

And since you aren't looking for the lowest price, I'm sure it isn't something Feely would want. I think I paid about $22 per night when I went.

My figures are US. I have no mlife points so my discount is really bad. Cheapest I can get vdara is 1515 US for the week all up

Fairly certain Skip means Harrahs

Palazzo is basically exactly like Venetian except with a few less years of wear & tear iirc.

Pretty sure Harrah's is like the Taj Mahal compared to the real AIDS Circus.

Right now on Hotels.com I'm seeing.... nightly for 20-27 JUN 2017 in US$ and exclusive of taxes and resort fees:

Bellagio $195

Paris $142

Monte Carlo $93

Tropicana $139

Trump International $131

Rio $104

There are a few others in the $150-190 range.

newly renovated Harrah's rooms are great, had one last year and zero complaints (besides my 5th floor 'view' being a brick wall below the concrete floor of whatever area was outside, on plus side pitch black during the day with curtains drawn)

my attendance is still in play, and without using the tunnels as accomos

Hotels.com is not always the cheapest site,no? Imo Bellagio at 195$ for example seems way more than ive seen on sites like Expedia.com, and also Vegas.com.

If people wanna do some research on priceranges, its also smart to check out the actual hotels homesite. Sometimes the prices are lowest there.

yeah forgot that part of my post, why is anyone looking at Strip places not on mlife/TR? my profile can't be very good in their algorithms (wrt my profitability as a customer) and i still get pretty good deals

hell even Cosmo sends me decent offers and all i've done with their card is played and ran up a bit the freeplay you get on United direct flights to Vegas

I booked through TR, even with my minimal status and when WSOP code it was the best option. I assume mlife is also the best although I can't speak to it for sure.

Since I travel for business often, I almost never look for the absolute cheapest rates. I keep my purchases to a few companies to build rewards points: Delta, Hotels.com, Marriott, NationalCar.

But my experience is that Hotels.com is very good when it comes to being competitive.

(And, I'm not sure who owns what, but Hotels.com bookings usually show up as "expedia" on the hotel's in house reservation system.)

If you have so much money that it's not worth your time to compare the price from the hotel website to that of the Hotels.com reservation you are making, then you have way too much money and need to go ahead and buy me dinner again this year. Thanks.
